I used to go diving off Port Hardy at a secluded place called God’s Pocket. Magnificent !
The ferry ride and drive up to the North end of the island were always worth it. The trouble with diving though is that it is up there with Naim in terms of running costs…
I probably visited Hawthorne Stereo. As it happens, it is just a block from Definitive Audio, where (in the Bellevue location) I’ve bought almost all my current gear. I have had great luck with Definitive.
Looking forward to reading what you think.
Mine visually is lovely, and sonically I’ve not heard anything to make me doubt its performance. Because my LP12 is spiked (SRM Tech Silent Base), I use Naim chips under it so as not to mar the platform. Dunno whether this impacts the SVT effect or not. I suppose I should try it without the Chips, but…
I have a chair at the back of the room, but in all honesty this room is too small for this system. I’m planning on a garden room for it one day, 6m x 4m ish. But it actually sounds OK even sat this close. You get enhanced separation etc but lose out on low notes. The amount of bass only really becomes apparent when you are at the end of the garden…then you get to hear those low woomhps.
First significant change to the system for a couple of years. Added an ND555, replacing an NDS.
This was more complex that might appear the case as previously I had one 555DR PS on the NDS on second shelf down and a second one on bottom shelf powering an NDAC. Have sold the NDAC and had to move the three 300DRs down a shelf to make space for the second 555 PSU close to the ND-555 otherwise the Burndy wouldn’t have reached.
Installed on Friday, now going through the tortuous run in process
It is really funny to see all these boxes that all look the same! I can’t imagine what an outsider guess would be as for what they are and why one needs them I suppose the preamp is in the Statement column?
