For me, Pompeii ( in terms of live music) will be always associated to Pink Floyd’s concert documentary, playing around the amphitheatre (and filmed over four days in October 1971.)

:sunglasses:

By the way, going to take the opportunity to ask a couple of questions if I may Sir:

How good are the B&W ‘s with Atom

And by any chance , the car in the photo is yours?

Compliments to land of the red sand.

25’s - refinished and recapped

My dad had a pair which I always loved even more than his quad ESL‘s and I had to let them go when he passed away, so when I was able to I managed to pick these up

I just had someone on Etsy make those stands

Pretty cool isn’t it !!

Just installed it on my new MacBook Air. Seems to be working fine. That’s the advantage of the Big Sur OS.

The joy of the new Apple Silicon!

?
What Naim player software works on macOS? It’s not N-serve?

New Macs can run iOS apps. It’s the Naim app.

Fabulous golf though - Quail Hollow…

Hi @anon29651526 ,

The B&W’s sound great, to me, in my space, for my taste in music (blues, jazz, chamber) and for the budget I had at the time. They were a little light on the lower frequencies hence the addition of the subwoofer. Since I started using QED XT40i and they’ve had about 300 odd hours through them, I no longer use the subwoofer… YMMV.

The car in the pic is my baby, yes, 1st gen 987 Cayman S from 2006 now with 47k km on and I will hopefully keep her till my last breath. Not the fastest or luxurious but the last analog Porsche made I believe and I love it.

And yes, Africa is good for the soul, you ought to visit soon again. :grinning:

I unboxed and setup mine alone (except for the ‘feet’). It wasn’t fun.

Thanks for the tip. I’d like to add the Naim app to my mac, running Big Sur, but how do I get it onto the mac? I can, of course access the App store but that doesn’t show iOS apps?

If you go to App store, then account and you have the choice of mac or iPhone/iPad apps and it can be downloaded from there.

That works on macs with the M1 processor only. Intel bases macs can’t run iOS apps.

I have a sweet spot for Porsche ‘s.
I would give a finger to have a 1st gen Carrera (68/69).

My family was born and raised in Angola.
Also , I visited Congo in 2002.
I would love to visite ( Sourh África) Cape Town. And Sun City.

Yes. Africa is … something else.

Thanks MrStreamer - as my mac isn’t using the M1 processor, it wouldn’t work for me. Perhaps next time…
Thanks, but it seems I would need a latest spec mac.

Hi Chris,

I’m sure you know this, but in case you dont, you can access a basic version of the app directly from a browser using its IP address, e.g.

Thanks, GadgetMan, it’s news to me. I’ve tried to click on the link and am told the site can’t be reached. Probably me, but I wonder if the address is correct? I’ve tried it using two different browsers, and get error messages from both.
