What a lovely place! And your assume Hifi system is not taking over. Congrats!
The CF20’s appear to be way too far apart to me, I would move them closer together, which would also get them away from the side walls.
Very nice ! Welcome to the mad forum!
Very inviting room Ellsworth - so inviting, I’ll be right over!
Oh drat, I can’t swim…never mind. But a wonderful, clean looking tasteful place to rest and listen!
That’s a lovely looking room and great hi-fi combo too.
Welcome Wilfried, what a lovely clean looking set up you have there, well done.
Hi No-Q. My dealer set them up and fiddled with the toe-in to get a sweet spot where I tend to sit. They are very dependant on positioning I agree.
Hi Ellsworth, lovely room. I have to completely agree.
Draw around the feet so you have a reference and can easily put them back in the same position but I would try moving them to about 7ft apart and seeing what you think. Toe you would just have to experiment with also.
Best popeye
Thanks Popeye and No-Q for the advice. I’ll play around with them.
Good advice there from popeye. Divide the front wall width into quarters ie if say 4 metres width place speakers 2 metres apart initially with no toe in ( if you had a bigger amp you could move each speaker another 3-4 inches further apart over and above the ‘rule of quarters). Very important to retain equal distance to side walls here. Move them incrementally off the wall to the point of getting the best bass response ( putting them into corners like that is a flawed set up in my view). Once happy with the bass response toe them in slightly till you get the best image/ focus. Then possibly a nice glass of red beckons Enjoy Peter
PS. The sofa on the left is obscuring the left channel far too much for a balanced L/R sound in your current set up.
Great - i am planning a homedemo…
Thanks Peter, I’ll take you up on all accounts
They look like they’re set up as Audionotes would be, which use corner reinforcement but can give a huge scale and deep bass from only 8” drivers. I’m not sure how Dynaudios react to such treatment but Just on the off chance the dealer knew what he was doing make a careful note of the current positions and be precise about it before trying other ideas. You might want to go back if only to check.
But only move the speakers before the three glasses of red wine … Otherwise, you might experience .
Exactly, Dynaudio usually suggest about 8 feet apart with them firing straight ahead to start with. Maybe a 5 degree toe in at the most, his look to be about 15 feet apart with 20 degrees toe in. I can’t imagine getting much of a center image with them that far apart. I have owned the previous confidence moniter (C1 MK11), and I believe mine were 7.5 feet apart. I have also owned XD 600’s, special 40’s, excite 12’s and focus 160’s from Dynaudio, and all of them sounded best about 7-8 feet apart with minimal toe-in.
Melco N10 ? Nice !
Mark the current position with Blue Painters tape; it won’t hurt the floor and you can even write on it.
