System Pics 2021

That is a great way to hide the TV - how do you affix the poster over the set?

Yes @Magpie I think the 606’s will definitely be a keeper. They are magnificent. This demo pair are in walnut so I will be ordering an oak pair to match other furnishings in the room.

The 42 I’ve had for years ,but its lost a channel. So I saw the 32.5 on E Bay and when I picked it up, noticed the 12 in a box. I made an offer for it and it is a sweet little preamp.
I think it’s an early one, six board, Gram and bolted sides and top.
The power amps are a 140 ,250 , plus a Snaps.

It’s always good to see another 12 here and that one looks like an earlier example. Nice one!

I have other Hi Fi.
Musical Fidelity MVT and P270. Also A Pre 3A and MX with one channel faults.
Meridian 101 Pre and M2 speakers.
Plus Tannoy Eaton’s(70’s). Linn Kan’s,JR149’s and Celestion SL600.
Turntable is a Linn LP12,Ittock ,Suprex 900 and an old Denon CD player.
I use Spotify a lot and play guitar.
I’m thinking of buying some more modern equipment. Speakers first, but have no idea how the new stuff sounds or if it will be compatible with my old stuff.

its so simple the poster is a canvas on a wooden frame. Not heavy at all. I simply put u brackets on the back top of the poster and these then hang over the top of the tv . For peace of mind i put draught excluder strips ( normally used around a door / window) where the frame touches the frame of the tv to stop any marks. I then simply lift the poster on and off if i want to watch tv. I took me 5 mins to put the brackets and tape on and job done

Hi @Marantz1300

Yes that picture upload has worked, very nice collection of naim ‘chrome bumper’ you have there. :+1:

Do you really need the AV receiver? I can’t see a centre speaker so I guess it’s powering rears and a sub?

I agree NAPSC can go on the floor.

Keith

Great - I may very well employ that strategy someday myself! I’ll be sure and give you credit though! :+1: :slightly_smiling_face:

That’s a great room for music. Not sure I’d want to leave it and use the rest of the house. Nice one!

I have ditched the centre speaker as the 65” Sony TV I have uses the entire screen in a ‘centre channel mode’. It works surprisingly well. I also have KEF Dolby Atmos speakers, M&K surrounds, and a Velodyne Sub. The Arcam in the picture is kaput and is being replaced by a new AV receiver. Home Cinema is as important to me as music, hence the integrated approach to the system.

I agree for the stands. Not the most elegant.

Hello friends, I have a Supernait 1 and a ND5XS2. I bought a pair of B&W 702s2 and I give back to shop after few days… impossible to find a placing, great sound but room boom with a puff of volume. I’m waiting a pair of PROAC D20ribbon. We will see.

I thoroughly enjoyed my SN-1. I felt it was a great VFM piece.

If you don’t mind stand-mount you might consider ProAc Response D2s. I ran them with my SN and they were excellent, and judging from the pic might really work well in your room.

Incredible Peter. A system most would dream of. Beautiful.

Please allow me to thank all here for the likes and most complimentary comments above. Getting everything to sound right in my room took 2 years of learning and experimenting with acoustic products, but hey I feel I got there in the end. I’m truly humbled about your feed back :hugs: Thanks again all Peter.

Lovely to have a dedicated room, with a nice view to boot!

But, what is that big white object on the windowsill behind your chair, Peter? Looks like a huge bin or dare I say, WC lol! I’ve never seen an acoustic treatment like that…

Edit\ Ah, I see it may be a double of a similar curved panel to the left of the bureau, so must indeed be a treatment panel of some sort.

Hi steviebee, your assumption is slightly wrong as you can imagine how reflective a ceramic WC would be :joy:
It is a combined semi circular diffuser/ absorber from GIK Acoustics. Well in fact 2 halves stacked. Tried all sorts there but this worked the best to my old ears :+1:t3: ATB Peter

Yup, that’s an early one. A handful of the earliest 12s had everything on the main board, but there are probably none like that around any more as probably most all were updated to the daughter board version.

Have you looked inside yet? The foam pad on the inside of the lid tends to decompose and is best just cleaned up. Do the daughter boards in yours all still have the original knife edge connectors?
