Nothing new here, but just to post a picture … Next upgrade will be speakers - my current Audiovector S3A are certainly not bad, but I could do with more bass extension and weight as our living room is quite large. Especially low volume listening leaves me wanting more bass weight. Sonus Faber Nova III and Dali Epicon 6 are on the short list and awaiting audition.

Looks the same. Sounds different in the most excellent way!

Your room and those tab 10 are inspired me to have some tab 10 sig - your 552 might be too but unfortunately that my pocket won’t be deep enough

Really like these SolidSteel stands!

Their response goes down to only 55 Hz.

I always thought they look like they could do with a damned good dinner.

Thank you - firstly I love their look and they sound good too.

@PSAN are the Audiovector R3 Arrette on your shortlist?

Did you fill them with sand? When I had them, I found that filling them 2/3 with sand sounds best, completely full was too much damping for my taste

Yes, we just filled them with atabites yesterday. It took me almost half a day with my wife’s helping- needed much patient to fill in the small hole of each legs though. We filled only one tub (7 kg) for both stands. I believe it’s about 2/3. I agree that completely full is really too much damping. Thanks for sharing.

That reminds me of when I filled Solidsteel stands with Atabites for mine. In the end I ditched the stands because of the looks - it’s a lot of metal for small speakers, and the back leg keeps the speakers a bit too far from the wall. I found that open frame stands work better, with a more dynamic and open sound, but they do look somewhat industrial.

Nice system. Do you live on a ship?!

I swapped my Neats SX3 for SX1 and said goodbye to subwoofer, also renewed the case for a music PC, now completely passively cooled and silent.

Hi James,
they look quite similar to the Audioplay Charly speakers. The usual magazines called them „fun speakers“ back in the eighties.
@anon85526005 : if this question is asked again…

Ah… nice one Mulberry. A quick Google brought up this - They do look like the the Charly Octopus. Always good to see unusual speakers in the system pics :+1:

Those speakers look a bit puny. Now you have got a non-pedestrian pre amp, you need some proper speakers to go with it.

I like your system very much and guess those speakers sing for their supper.

Look super cool in white

I have Harbeth P3ESR bought in part, so they did not dominate my living room and I could move them without distressing either of my incisional hernias

Not really - they’re the same size speaker as I currently have and while two generations younger and one level up (from Avantgarde to Avantgarde Arrete) I wouldn’t expect any major changes in bass weight.

I rather have a pedestrian amp, they walk all over it.

I saw what you did there!
