Love Father Ted
Quick lesson on ā€œperspectiveā€ :+1:

Think our Electrician might like that one

James, how far is it from the wall/skirting board to the fronts of the speakers. The photo gives the impression of them being pretty close to the wall. This potentially makes them much more interesting if they can work like that!

They do seem well away from the corners also, which is maybe allowing them to be closer to the wall from a bass response point of view. ATB Peter

The spiders and their webs can have an effect on the sound, capturing those high frequencies and calming the bass. At least, thatā€™s what I tell my wife.

Collect a few in a some thin aluminium canisters, cap them with plugs and you could make a fortune

Interim positionā€¦NDS boxed up, now soldā€¦555PSDR boxed up, ready to goā€¦

Currently streaming from an old Aries Mini+SBooster, with Morgana RCA-Din I/C, sounding pretty damn good relatively ā€¦

Hopefully getting Linn DSM/3 Organik for home demo on Friday to check out their new DACā€¦(not planning to buy one, however may get Klimax DSM/2 and upgrade DAC in futureā€¦)

Following the home demo will prob take a couple of Isoblue shelves out and move the 552 up top as previously suggestedā€¦

If you plan to keep your Naim pre-amp then it may be worthwhile looking out for a Klimax DS/3 instead of the Klimax DSM/2. The streamer/DAC circuitry in both units should be identical (both Katalyst spec), but the DS/3 comes without a pre-amp and so should be cheaper than the DSM/2 if you buy second hand.

Thanks, good callā€¦will investigate that optionā€¦though at some point in the distant future may go active ATCā€¦

Thanks folks - very pleased indeed. It was a bit of a leap of faith with the Titans having not heard them in my room before but youā€™ve got to try these thingsā€¦

@TOBYJUG - Yes very different. Iā€™ll put some proper thoughts down after a few more weeks with the new arrivals. They are beautifully engineered speakers, but maybe not quite as pretty as the Compasses. SQ thoughā€¦

@KJC - Thanks Kevin. Iā€™m curious to try the Kudos cable just to see but white is hard to hide under the rack. First world problems I know. Hope youā€™re settling into your new place :+1:

@DrMark - ah the rug. Itā€™s getting a bit old now but survived our pups accidents (thank heavens for a Vax)

@GavinB - Theyā€™re pretty close to the back wall and sit very much where the Compasses used to be. They are ~6in from rear wall to inner back panel and work really well here. Sealed box, transmission lines and these Isobaric loaded models seem to work in this room. Small ported speakers donā€™t.

Great picture of the 606 standing alongside the S20/C20, for anyone thinking of upgrading.

My C20s are 23 inches from the back wall ! All very room dependent of course.

At 6inches away from the wall, those 606s are very room friendly. The isobaric loading must have a lot to do with it.

Aah, if only everything in life would be 6 inches. One can but only dream!

Fabulous stylish room James. Neat tidy system on the ever lovely Isoblue. Just two main boxes. Simple but very effective.

I do like that - looks beautifully made and is presumably like that for stability.

I think they look good. Bases are cool.

Unlike biwire terminals.

Hi How far is the speaker out from the wall to the front woofer. Nice system.

Thanks @Hawkmoon. Currently the front of the drivers on the Sopra-3 are 5 feet from the front wall. Iā€™m always fiddling around with that though. Essentially no toe in.

Thanks for reply I do have sopra 2 and just got 555dr ps and I only need a small amount of toe. In now with 555 mine 4 feet from wall to front.

A couple of changes 2021 - Chord Shawline powercord x2, Soundcare superspikes and a Music Line mainsblock. All these little changes makes a better overall presentation to both sound and soundstage, in a small but audible way.

This thread is an absolute favourite, to see other forum members systems and homes.
