They are very attractive racks. I’ve just done a bit of research and found that gloss finish with ‘black diamond’ legs even makes Fraim look cheap!
Really attractive racking system!
Nice rack!
What is the anti fire like bomb next to the rack? In case your system will take fire ?
I saw a few in the flesh at The AudioBarn and ordered it there and then as I much prefer it to the Fraim aesthetically. I am sure Jack at the AudioBarn or any other dealer would be happy to provide an accurate quote but the Quattron is slightly more per level than a Fraim Lite.
Thanks FR! It is an upcycled fire extinguisher that a talented friend of mine made into a floor lamp!
Mine’s Macallan and Kind of Blue. Lucky devil!
That looks really nice.
Excellent, well done…enjoy
That looks really classy.
How does it sound with so many reflective surfaces? Mind you, after you’ve been at the bar for a few, I suspect it sounds bloomin’ marvellous .
It’s a really interesting question actually, and made me consider the answer … as I move around the room, the sound changes. I’d say perhaps this isn’t a room for the purist . It’s very much a family & entertaining space, with a large hint of ‘chill’ when required also. I may play around with the speaker locations, especially the unit to the right of the bar in the pic (argument being that it would be better in line with the bar perhaps).
Here’s the room from a little further back …
You need some Shahinian speakers in there. Room filling sound and the bonus, as it’s an entertaining space, is that people can’t leave drinks on top of your speakers
Very nice
The big bonsai is very nice. And overall I like the colours. The 3 lights on the ceiling match well the room.
But, sorry, there’s always a but, why some chairs are red and other grey? Chairs for the table.
Thanks for the feedback.
We went for 2 different styles of chair to break up the colours, and add a splash of brightness, as lots of the furniture is quite neutral. It could definitely be a polarising look … we love it though !
The other questionable aspect of layout, is I seem to base myself permanently behind the bar, so maybe the speakers should be the other side of the room … depends if I’m entertaining, or amusing myself I suppose .
I saw another picture of your system in Focal after sales thread. One speaker have a wall behind it and the other not. So not optimal like that. But nice looking.
Indeed, I may have to move one of the speakers. The battle of acoustics versus aesthetics.
That’s a very smart rack but a curious choice for Naim. It’s designed specifically for large and heavy equipment and is an absolute monster at 700mm wide and 547mm deep. Most racks are about 600 by 400, but if you’ve got the space then why not?
Nice bar.
Lagavulin for me, three fingers, no ice.
Ta.
You do realise that everyone on the forum is wondering where you live and how to invite ourselves round? More seriously, what a lovely living space.
