Lovely space SiLew, please whereabouts in the World are you? ATB Peter
Iām in Wales. Iād gladly serve a few fine single malts ā¦ maybe a bourbon, or a rye. Iāll swap for tips on optimising audio setups
Well, Iām not. Home bars seem incredibly weird. Why would anyone possibly want one? Relatives of ours moved to a house that already had one, complete with goldfish tank built into the front. Maybe they keep it as an ironic statement.
Deal!
Hi HH, bought it as i fell for the looks rather than the depth or weight carrying ability! It is deeper than my old HiFi Racks av type unit but weirdly, the wiring seems to fall much more neatly so I can position it closer to the wall. Also, gives me an excuse to consider deeper speakers when I finally upgrade!
Hi Paul, I went from a SN2 to 282/ 250 - I think that you will be seriously impressed by the difference that makes, although the SN2 is no slouchā¦what are the speakers that you are using?
Very nice space and far more practical than the outside garden bars my pals have built (even if one or two have been very impressive!). Great booze collection too. Iām quite into Japanese whisky at the moment especially with the cooler nights drawing in.
They are 6 year old Audio Physic Classic 10s. Just given back some Spendor D7.2 which after an extended home listen were a little too bright in the room here. The APs definitely punch above their weight though! Pre/power is probably the most sensible next upgrade though
Drinking while listening, always makes my music and hifi sound better! - up to the point when I fall off the sofa, and the soundstage collapses
Cool. Love your room! I always feel like inviting myself over for a listen, when I see some of the listening spaces on this forum!
It certainly looks very smart. I recently sold my Fraim and deliberately went for something small, and without shiny bits. I think my poor little Rega would get agoraphobia on yours!
What?! No Ardbeg?!
You are more than welcome, although try to not fall off the sofa
Just sipping a lovely Corryvrecken.
Thanks, likewise! I must admit, I am usually a little wary of shiny bits, but the stainless steel legs are brushed so donāt look too bad here! Tempted to put my TT on the top shelf and being a full sized unit with a large acrylic cover, should look OK!
Is that a āLittle Professorā chair from John Lewis?
Similar to my JL one, only ours is buttoned & I added castors.
Nice chairs.
Haha, yes but I think we bought it directly from the manufacturer. Ours is sans buttons but has the edge studs. It is ridiculously comfortable for such a small armchair!
Lovely setup Nigel.
Thanks. The only thing thatās not quite right is the pesky Rega Neo on the floor; a challenge Iām working on.
Yes, bloody nuisance isnāt it. Canāt find a good place for mine. Need it accessible but not visible, thats the problem.
