Is there room for a standard uplighter behind the stand?
âUplighterâ! Thatâs the word Iâve been struggling to find - thank you.
Getting much better image search results now and something like this (from JL) may just work. Off-centre column means it could go into that corner and hug the wall without the unit having to come out too far.
Thanks for having a better vocabulary than me
glad to be of assistance
Agreed James (of course!). Or Neat Explorers perhaps for @SiLew . Wherever the listening point is unfixed/random, this style of omni or semi-omni gives a much more consistently involving sound experience almost anywhere in the room than conventional speakers with forward-firing-only drive units can manage. Worth checking out in this case especially.
You could also use LED lighting strips that you can fix to back of the cabinet for backlighting too. Very discrete and can be quite effective. You can even use an app on a phone to change colours and intensity.
We have one of these in the study - itâs a Hector medium dome, with a switch in the braided flex and a plug. Itâs made by Original BTC and gives a lovely light. Drill two holes and itâs up. Highly recommended.
âAny jungle in guy?â Class, love it
Human Traffic is a great film, with some great tracks! Read somewhere that the two âJunglistsâ asking the question wrote the movieâŚ.
Its a solid excuse buying it for your daughters room- I need to buy one for my daughters room!
A new arrival today. A Nat02, 31 years old and sounding beautiful. It reminds me how lovely the Olive design actually was.
Was that by any chance delivered to you last Friday, purchased from a well known auction site
That is a lovely set-up
Like you I still have a tuner in the rack, a NAT 03 for those days when my ever so reliable broadband goes âwalkiesâ
It most certainly wasnât. It arrived this morning, purchased from a very nice fellow Pink Fish member. No extortionate eBay fees for us.
Just wondered given I sold my NAT 02 last week. Clearly just a coincidence then.
Very nice HH, it looks kinda special sat there. Iâd love a NAT, but would then have to do it justice by installing a worthy aerial.
I had a NAT 02 in my first Olive system and loved it to bits. Especially on a simple Magnum Dynalab ST2. Way better sounding than the 05 I had in my current system.
Iâll take back the Olive design any day.
I wanted something that neither the kids (12 and 14) or in-laws (who were coming over) would have a clue about, theyâd Google it later, and then be like âwtf is this?â - and that scene still makes laugh.
Both sets initially thought it was just some random word salad.
Iâm not even really into Jungle! (techno is my one true love)
Very nice, the olive shoeboxes are still the best looking things from Naim. Too bad the Nait 2 was out of reach, although the Cyrus Two I bought instead was another good looking shoebox.
I would be interested to hear your views on how it sounds compared to the NAT05 that I think you had before. It has the advantage of being smaller on the racks, albeit not matching the design of the more current boxes, but then as we know looks arenât everything!
