Word of warning, I had to replace a shelf that had been in direct sunlight as it faded so badly over less than a year compared to the others that it looked absolutely terrible. Replaced by the manufacturer with no qualms.
Yes I read it, I have owned Sopra 1’s before, so I know they need room around them to sound their best.
The only photo I can find right now is with XD 600’s and excite 12’s in the same room. As you can see, none of them are anywhere near a corner. It makes little sense to me to spend Sopra 2 money, to position them right in a corner. I would put the lamp in the corner, and the speaker where the lamp is at the very least.
I heard Sopra 2’s at a dealer, they were at least 5 feet away from any wall, I guess he did not know anything about speaker position according to you.
Huh? Where did you get that idea from, or are you being deliberately obtuse?
All I wrote was that a better speaker badly positioned will still sound better than a worse speaker badly positioned. No more, no less.
Looks great! The speakers look very similar to my Kans. what do you think of the sound they create?
What about tying them up, just during listening sessions you understand.
Thank you - they are Spendor ls3/5a 11ohm, I bought them on 1994. They sound great for near field listening. I love them driven by the little nait 2.
Thank you Bandit. That fits into place. I adore my Kans [I am listening to them as I write]. They may be identical in appearance. Yours look like they are in fantastic nick!
They probably listen to it more than I do to be fair!
Any sort of collision scenario is usually best avoided from the list of previous mishaps.
Some refurbishment going on here…waiting for new floor, need to choose window coverings, wall art etc but at least have the ProAc D20Rs in their new position along the short wall (or mostly wall) and listening to them without a wall directly behind me. Everything is taking so long due to delivery delays.

Do I see an iittala mug there? I have few myself, really like the designs and colours. I might also have to consider changing speakers in my study, those look pretty good.
I’ve owned the same ones in the past (active ones on that occasion with Flying Mole amps) so knew what to expect, desk friendly size and more than enough for what I need at that sort of listening distance.
I think you’re right on the mug btw!
They certainly are. Devialet 220pro fronted by an NDX2.
That left speaker will be better moved too where the lamp is.
@Neil0001 as the above replies state, don’t rule them out too quickly. My Kantas are 35cm from the rear wall and 75cm from the side wall. I have toed them in but not too much (10-15 degrees), which also helps avoid bass boom. The front ports are 240cm apart. I’m considering foam in the rear ports but honestly, they don’t need it for my listening and room.
I’ve seen comments on another thread about bright effects from the beryllium tweeter and the effect the room can have on this. My left speaker is 75cm from a large glass sliding door. The tinting helps reduce reflection and vibrations and drawing the light curtain and rug placement also helps. I don’t hear an overly bright sound, but, one of the main reasons I bought these speakers was for the clear, effortless and amazingly rhythmic tweeter that reaches out across the soundstage.
Yes: I agree with you about that beryllium tweeter - I like the Kanta 2s from top to bottom, but I think the tweeter is the star of the show, at least with my system in my room. Clear, effortless, amazing, rhythmic - all that you say.
Thanks James. I’d need to do a home test as because of the size of my room, my 926 are only 20 cms from the wall. With their down firing port, they’re ideal for the job.
Kudos C20’s would be very viable in your system as they have downward firing ports. I had these with the original NDX/202/HiCap/200 (and later 282/HiCapDR/250DR) and they worked really well.
S20’s are also excellent, I have these now and they followed on after the amp upgrade and probably need the better amp.
Thank you! I’ll add those to the possible future list!
You seem to have gone back to a perfected version of the Sats-based system you had when we visited you in Emsworth. I too seem to prefer accurate small stand mounts to anything else. My current Klipsch Heresy IIIs are sort of an expanded version of n-Sats in a way. You may ramble as much as you fancy, you always come back to where you really belong…
Best

Such a great picture Chris. We get so much pleasure from listening to music and that shot captures it perfectly.
