System Pics 2021

Blimey…I just looked up Chord Music speaker cables: £11,000 for a 5m pair. Wowee…makes SL seem cheap!

A home demo would be a prerequisite and whoever set them up would need to know what they’re about. I’ve not heard the top ones and I’d be extra wary of silver with Naim too. There’s quite a range of choices and price might not indicate the best option.
With the Tom Evans amp, which was updated to include user adjustable feedback, the sub 10K pair I heard didn’t seem to struggle with complexity, though, when I listened for it I could hear a colouration from the thin walled cabinets.
I could have had a home demo back in Reading, Simon was quite keen on doing it but events got in the way.

… double wowee!

I don’t quite follow this configuration. Please explain/specify the components

Darkness is coming. The light is within music.

Slight change in source and I know its not ideal with the ND5XS2 plonked on top of the NAP300 PSU but I’m on the look out for a cherry fraim shelf to accommodate.

Anyway…

There’s something lovely about a system in the dark. Very nice!

Remember the ads they used to place for olive gear back in the 90’s… just a rack of gear in the dark with the green logos glowing? Very understated, simple, but oh so powerful. I saw that ad and I was instantly hooked on the idea of one day getting a Naim system.
The first time I actually heard Naim for real I remember was some time later at a party hosted by MTV’s then FD… I remember we listened to all sorts of music during the day and the next day I realised how much I had enjoyed all that music - went to Graham’s a few weeks later and the rest is history

That’s what my wife also says. did not feel like letting go of my Kef q500s when I got the spendor a4s this year. So now the KEFs are connected to the Onkyo AVR and Spendors to the Naim. Separate systems but only one living room.

I totally agree with keeping AV and stereo systems 100% separate. Not only does it sound more consistent for AV, but it makes the TV and AV stuff so much simpler and more accessible for the rest of the household.

As for loads of speakers, I’ve also been looking at the KEF among others but I think the key for the AV side is to go with mall mounts for everything except the sub.

I was hearing a buzz/hum from the kefs when using the AV bypass on the Naim. Solutions found online for ground loop did not entirely eliminate the problem. Separating the av from stereo solves that and hence keeping the kefs even though their placement is not ideal. Had to prioritise the placement of spendors for stereo.
