You are obviously a fan of Full fat Fraim and I wonder why you got rid of yours?

The Fraim is excellent and a great way to get the best from your system. But I sold mine because I wanted something smaller and simpler, and something that didn’t jar with my speakers and their stands. I bought the maple Fraim when I had my maple SL2s and they looked great together. But with the much smaller oak finish ProAcs on their black stands it just looked wrong. Too big and the wrong colour. So it had to go. As it happens, the system on the Isoblue sounds wonderful and I don’t miss the Fraim at all.

Yes and no. First I’ll move up to an NDX2 and probably a 250 too in the coming months. But I am intrigued by the 505s and curious how they compare to my Guarneri’s. The Marten Parker Duo is on the same want-to-audition-at-home list.

But I love my speakers and the SF/Naim marriage for a long time (my 3rd pair) so I don’t see myself move away from SF soon.

@Charlie - Think you picture failed to load…??

You’ll love the NDX2! I’m intrigued by your system, as I currently have a 202/200 set up and want to move up to a 282 and wondered how well it works with the 200?

I’m sure I will!

I think the 282/200 combo works really well. There is reason behind this - maybe odd - choice too. At the time I purchased my boxes, I was firmly set on the ‘obvious’ 282/250 combo. However, the 250 back then (pre DR) was a very different sounding amp than today. I didn’t get along with it at all. Or better, I didn’t like the combination with the speakers. Nor did my dealer at the time. It sounded too warm, too fat and sluggish for my taste. The 200 was more convincing in this combination. It matches really well with the Guarneri’s that are an easy load.

This is all different today. I think the current 250 DR is a much better sounding amp than its predecessor. And better than the 200 too obviously, hence my probable upgrade soon.

I asked a question along these lines earlier this year and got lots of positive responses, I believe there are a number of users with this combination.

I think the 282 sounds fantastic with the 200. I did try out a 202/200 for a week but then fate made a preloved 282 available and I felt it was a pretty impressive upgrade.

Agree, the improvement from a 282 over the 202 is really significant.

That exactly mirrors my thoughts on the both the olive and CB250. I’ve since gone back to the far nimbler and more responsive shoe-box 110. I cannot understand why people raved so much about the 250!

Just to say that I am using an oldish 200 with my new (to me) pre-loved 252/SCDR and while, perhaps, not ideal it is delightful.

Maybe trade in the 282……

I have a 282/200 DR combo. I initially ran it without a HiCap DR and it sounded great. I subsequently added the HiCap DR and am even more pleased.

Stillpoint Apertures, acoustic panels.

Thanks for that. I’ve already got one Hicap, and am also aware of the conversations about running the 282 with two Hicaps. So yes, very interested.

That looks like a great room to enjoy your music and TV in. System looks very enjoyable too. Lovely job.

Clean lines, matching wood and big TV. All good. Nicely done!

I don’t have it yet! 252 is well beyond budget at the moment…

Yes, that’s what my wallet is fearing!

Thank you Graeme. I lied to the wife about the size of the telly and have never been allowed to forget it…:smiley:
