TIDCHADESH.
Are those d-two?

No. They are Responses 1.5. You should have said to me TIDCHADESH in 1999 but thanks anyway.

Esoteric K-07Xs, PrimaLuna EVO 100, Naim n-Sats.

These are my sixth pair of n-Sats. For the record:
1st pair, piano black, used, from Germany (early 2006)
2nd pair, maple, used, from Denmark (Hi Per)
3rd pair, cherry, brand new, from my dealer
4th pair, cherry, ex-dem, from my dealer
5th pair, cherry, from the country near Lausanne (Hi John), drove there personally.
6th pair, cherry, NOS, from a dealer near Bologna. I drove there yesterday, a two-half hours 'round trip.

I have tried everything. Have had SBLs (twice), Arivas, S-400s (twice), have demoed Allaes & Credos here, have had rega R7s, AR4xs, demoed PMC Twenty something… Bought Klipsch Heresys. Bought the white ultramodern I have posted about. Nothing really works. Sats are my speakers. I’m glad I found this last pair. They were unsold, unused from 2006. Like the last puppy at the doghouse, they were waiting for me.

Max, you got the all-important n-Stands too, I see.

By the look of it you just need to re-do the speaker cable terminations with SA-8 speaker connectors (will also allow neater cable routing), or perhaps that’s already on the agenda…

Morning Richard,

yes I found the whole pack luckily. Considering that the speakers have been around in two stores for years, they are in very good conditions. The stands have minor signs. Unfortunately, one of the two aluminum plates on the back of the speakers, on which the tiny screw rests for the speaker’s vertical adjustment, is missing; and the wood has been marked a little. But I will contact Naim to see if there’s some spare parts still available.

Ah, that’s a shame about the plate. Yes, see what Naim may have lurking in a drawer somewhere. Otherwise it should be fairly easy to make or adapt something suitable.

Nice to see a bit of ‘commitment’ there…!! I just did a 5 hour + round trip (in the UK), which involved a call at Class A, in Sheffield. To be repeated in a few weeks, once all the items involved are ready…

I have just emailed Naim. I’ll be happy if proper parts are found, but yes, I can surely make a decent job myself.

Hi,
when I found my last but one pair I drove to near Lausanne, from lake Como. It was longer than yesterday’s commute but a very pleasant trip.
Yes, some commitment is required sometimes, for those you love.

Very nice Max. That’s a lovely setup !

Thanks! It’s the result of some weird moves… But tubes and Sats are an odd but happy couple.

Takemitsu playing. Lovely, lovely, lovely Sats.
Apologies for hijacking the thread.

Absolutely. Class A, who are a Naim approved service agent, are a regular visit of mine…! A bit over 1 hour there - so a 2 hour plus round tip.

Lovely boxes. Similar to my set-up (NAIT XS 2 and nDAC) except for the CD player. From your profile I see you also have a HiCap2 connected to the NAIT. Do you feel this a worthwhile upgrade for the NAIT?

I have a spare Olive hicap on my xs2 and it is a definite improvement. So much so that I now have a Hicap DR on its way.
