How does the Dave compare to the Qutest in your system? I am asking because I have a Hugo 2 into SL2s…

I love the layout of the system with the 3 stacks of Fraim, a classic 500 system, beautifully presented in a lovely room. Superb speakers. Where do you go from there I ask. Sit back, admire the system and most importantly enjoy the music. Wonderful!

Thanks Dan, that’s all I have done for the last few years, I have just enjoyed the music, it’s what I built my system to do

It’s a great setup. Do you have a separate room for Cds and vinyl?

Hi Gary

You re the only other person so far, I’ve seen on the forum with Arcs

These have made me very contented as I trust are you ?

Yes, i have had them for over twenty years and love them!

Thank you Matthew, I have a room upstairs with the bulk of the CD’s and Vinyl. I also have a couple of unts downstairs, one with CD’s hidden in it and two white boxes with vinyl hidden in it. There is very little on show.

Trust me there is plenty of vinyl and CDs in @Polarbear’s Lair😀

Thanks @Thegreatroberto …It was a bit different from normal trunking, as it was rounded. I’ll keep my eyes open for some. :+1:

Very nice, I’ve got the CM6 S2 and they’re lovely looking speakers.

What are you using to clean them with please?

Just one drop of neat fairy liquid at a time on a microfiber cloth to remove anything on the surface. Probably used 6 drops for each of the 804s. Then a new microfiber cloth to polish this off.

As you would expect the MScaler/Dave over the MScaler/Qutest there’s no comparison, performance hike in all directions the SL2s just disappear, the depth of the sound is incredible it’s hard to describe unless you hear the Dave for yourself.

From 2 months ago, pretty same as today.

Awaiting the arrival of the NDX2 … complete disassemble, clean and reassemble the Fraim … decided to remove the nDAC and re-introduce the CD5x + FlatCap2x. Yes, I know it’s too crowded but having fed the CD5x (w/o FC2x) into the Pioneer AV receiver for the last few years I know it’s so much more satisfying hearing it via the 282

The NDX requires a service (screen very dim, I struggled to reset output from Digital to Analogue) … and then a new home.

Is there any way that you can divide into two stacks of brain and brawn? Stacking Naim boxes on top of each other is far from ideal.

Agreed … but no - the extra footprint would not be acceptable. Once the NDX2 is here I may remove the CD5x and FC2x which will simplify things. I do isolate the boxes by using some padding under the feet of the FC2x, HiCap and NAPSC.

Other option is to add 2 Fraim shelves and have standard height legs rather than one tall. Would look alot better and provide better separation. Anyhow, no doubt you’re aware of this. Most importantly enjoy your wonderful system.
