System Pics 2021

It’s funny that the Eames house bird was not designed by the Eames’, but bought while on a trip somewhere, and cherished ever after. It featured in many photographs of their designs however. Been loving and photographing mine for years. It moves around the house and I never know where I’m going to find it next. It is a simple and classic design, not yet bettered IMO.

Also happy for you that you got rid of the hum.

Very good idea. Could try a blanket to see if it even helps. However: we have thin curtains on the other windows and a thick curtain on one door will not fit visually.

I love the little bird. Very nice on the floor, would be afraid that anyone will kick him or vacuum cleaners will clean him away

Looks much nicer with the radio on top. What is the next step?

How do you get on with these reflective surfaces?

The bird normally lives on top of a small bookcase and I only put it (him? her?) on the floor to get it in the picture to say hello to yours, but it actually looks really nice there. Vacuuming the sitting room is my responsibility so I’m not too worried and will leave it there for a while, and potentially start moving it around. We don’t have pets to it’s the next best thing.

Thanks. I tried the NDX2 on top as but didn’t like the look. It was Mrs HH who suggested the radio on top, and I’m really pleased with how it’s come together, with the Rega on the wall and the Rega boxes at the bottom. A bit more eclectic than having everything too matchy-matchy. As to the next thing, I think buying a few more LPs and enjoying what I have.

@anon4489532 In a good spirit of the season post I have compiled this image for you.

As we come to the end of the year of another System Pics thread, I thought you might like to review all the changes you did make during 2021, and take us through the full journey that got you to this point.

Here is a visual reminder from some of the pictures posted - apologies if any are out of sequence or superfluous. Viewing this image on a larger screen is preferable!

Greetings to Düsseldorf! Have fun with your Speaker testing. :+1:

Ha! I’m rather hoist by my own petard there I think. Other than one modest change in the pipeline that I won’t mention in case it doesn’t work out and which only costs £320, I need to hold much more strongly to my resolve! I also need to post far, far, fewer pictures. It’s soon time for a new 2022 thread and all this jiggling about will be consigned to history. At least it’s provided a little gentle amusement.

What a great idea, the collage…wish I’d kept photos of my stereo(s) over the years - let alone 12 months.

My visual preference is still with Fraim over Isoblu, but it’s nice to see the comparison.

When it’s dark and wintry outside there’s nothing like the warm glow of an R-Com.

HH,

You have become the Imelda of the Hi Fi and watches worlds. It is time to find a good book to read and settle down.

Haim

Thanks Haim, you are absolutely correct and that’s very good advice. 2022 is another year.

Stuck another Supercap DR in while I wait for a used minty 552 DR to appear for a good price.

Please, don’t keep us in suspense. How are you finding the Aria?

My dealer recommended mine two & a half years ago & I have been delighted with it. Seems a really good match for my cartridge/TT.

Found a very old system pic whilst sorting out my lightroom library. We’d not long moved into our present house and I’d bought a pair of n-Sats as my Motive 2s didn’t like the new room. I was still looking for stands, but a man needs music… at least I had NAC A5 so was doing something right :flushed:

My setup. Nothing changed since 2004 apart from the addition of the Auralic Altair G1 and a complete service of everything and recapping. No DR upgrades because it’s a bit to expensive for me.
