And in the end, if you are not enjoying your system and spending half the time critiquing it instead of listening to music, then what is the point?
Glad you got it all sorted out!

No. I used the n-Sub with the NBLs but not with the Titan 808. The n-Sub is used for movies only. The detail in bass provided by the 808 gets lost if the n-Sub is active.
I keep looking at the fantastic systems and lovely rooms in here and then the people who make just that comment and post, so I thought I should.
My main changes were done two years ago when I changed chrome bumper 62/90 to Olive 82/250 and had Radikal put on my LP12. 2020 saw the arrival of Karousel - this year is not likely to see any change unless I find sufficient dosh to replace my elderly SBLs.
The picture shows my sitting position left and speakers (right) opposite.
LP12 82/250 is a good SBL system so no real need to replace them, perhaps upgrade to 52 if you can find a good one
Looks cosy - and, importantly, with lots of vinyl to be played.
Sorry for the late reply. The ātilesā look good from that angle. Thanks for the info ref the Majik 140s too.
What are those big panels next to your speakers? Are they bass traps or absorbers?
Like the lighting effects. Iām currently experimenting with blue under my amp.

It is finished! A 30 year hi-fi odysey and I think Iām done.
Everything is nicely balanced and sounding wonderful. (Or will be once the Apheta 3 is back from being repaired)
Really pleased with the uplift that the 4 x MCRU No. 75 power cables made.
Nice amp the Pass Labs INT-60. I was looking for a high quality integrated to complement my Naim separates last year and narrowed down the choices to Pass Labs INT-60 and Luxman L-590AXII. I settled with the Luxman instead but believe the Pass will be equally good if not better.
This is very interesting as it sounds like this is what Iām experiencing with my system, I have to turn the volume up quite high as well and that causes other issues which I believe to be down to room acoustics.
My speakers are 8 ohm 90db, when you talk about lower sensitivity should I be looking at 85db or 4 ohm, or both? This is in a 25m2 room.
Cheers
Yes they are 4" GIK Acoustics diffusion panels beside the speakers and across the front, and against the front wall are 7" GIK bass traps. I also have 4 bass traps, one each behind the speakers (in the corners) and 2 more at first reflections. There are also 2 more diffusion panels at first reflection points hanging on the walls.
The corner traps and first reflection absorption panels are temporarily placed there, I had to scavenge them from the walls of my home theater while I am awaiting delivery of 4 more from GIK that have footers so they can stand up without falling.
Love your lighting - it is definitely a rabbit hole! I am using Phillips Hue lighting, with 4 play bars behind the diffusion panels and Hue can lights in the ceiling as well. It is very cool to set up different scenes depending on the time of day or listening moods.
Son et LumiĆØres they say in Versailles.
We bought a pair of colour changing LED bulbs from Amazon for about Ā£10, they colour change either individual colours or fade/flash between colours, come with a timer and a pair of remote controls. Been very good so far a bit of a bargain
Iām not convinced this would solve the room issues, even if you could push the SN3 a little harder.
I love following your journey through the gear and the elaborate room treatments you have used to optimise the sound. The looks and lighting are first class and I bet it sounds amazing. Sadly, I donāt have the room or domestic flexibility to do what you have.
Iāve got some Dynaudio Focus 110ās(plus REL Stampede sub)with my Nova and although I generally love the combination,it depends on where I sit in the room, especially if one wants to turn it up a bit. There is one spot where it all seems to hang together really well and this isnāt where youād expect it if you chose to sit without listening first. The āidealā position at the apex of the equilateral triangle definitely has some room effects, especially as it is the main sofa with a wall directly behind it, so my head is probably positioned in one of the bass nodes that can occur near wall boundaries. Iād been thinking about changing my speakers to something like the ProAc Tablette 10ās, but it occurred to me that I had some smaller, older Mission 760iās around somewhere, so I hooked them up to see what effect it would have. I was expecting the bass problem in the āidealā position to be resolved. On the contrary, to my surprise, given the reduced bass extension on the Missionās, it was even worse, with worse control at the problem frequencies. I suspect cabinet and driver quality had a significant affect on the outcome - not surprising given the price difference, I guess.
What did I learn from this? Iām not necessarily going to solve the room sound by changing the speakers(or amp for that matter)even if I went smaller and sealed box, like the Proacs. Room treatment would work better, I suspect, or just āworkā the room until you find the spot or spots that work best. As a hobbyist photographer, we are often asked to āwork the sceneā until you get the shot you want and I guess it works the same in achieving that primo sound that weāre all after. Just donāt be surprised if itās somewhere you least expect.
That Luxman is a very good amp. Beautiful too. I heard it at one of the dealers. I think itās very similar to the Pass on a short listen. I would love to have one!
Do you get much fan noise from the 135s?
When I had mine in my a/v set-up in my old house I could hear the fans whirring in the quiet bits, and you have 7ā¦
