System Pics 2021

Your furniture is very nice. Did you buy it, or is it homemade?
I absolutely love those animals on top of your audio rack!

Top left is a NAT03 with a Marantz PMD671 on top; it’s a hi res digital recorder, getting on a bit now, but still excellent, and very useful bit of kit.

Oh, it really suck. It has a blue screen and red button.

Just kidding! Awesome pro digital recorder! That justifies the red button! :+1:

It’s actually a back-lit LCD screen (you can switch the back-light on or off), so no blue in there. It’s a well established control layout that Marantz have used for decades on their pro field recorders - I guess it means you can switch from one device to the next and everything falls easily to hand. I use it just like a kind of digital cassette deck, except instead of cassette I record onto CF cards. The recordings can then be edited and chopped into tracks on a computer using Audacity, and metadata added through dbpoweramp.

Ah, thanks @Richard.Dane. Pics I saw looked blue. Might be white balance of the pics. Very nice unit!

Ah yes, I’ve seen the official pics and it does look blue, I agree. However, in reality, it’s not blue…

Hi,

I had no intention of hurting your feelings with my choice of words.
Have a good life outside Naim and enjoy whatever music rocks your boat which is the most important thing.

Ciao carino.

Are you the Max who had n-Sat speakers in and out of your system?

Cheers, Rack.

Max, from what I can make out, it appears to be mean’t with affection. I would assume that to be case Tony?

Hi Max, I definitely enjoyed reading your posts on the old naim forum, and you always had good photos.

Would be very interesting to hear your thoughts on the Pass Lab amp. I recall you tried and rejected a number of Naim amps, so for it to replace your SN (? from memory) it must be something special. And it definitely looks gorgeous!

Hope you are well and I am glad you are alive
I remember your interesting posts on systems pics. Always enjoyable to see other systems than all Naim ones. It gives some fresh air.

I’ve had similar conversations with ex girlfriends.

Several months after a split, they want to meet for lunch and tell me where it all went wrong and how they are much better without me and they’ve moved on and are much happier now.

They don’t miss me at all - but yet they texted me - and wanted to meet for lunch - and tell me all this. So it does make me wonder.

You lost me there, mate. Did they used to tell you “it’s not you, it’s me” as well?

Just observing the need that some people seem to have to come back to tell you why they left in the first place!:wink:

I believe if he hadn’t been “pronounced dead” nothing of the sort would have happened.

Changes in the last year include two new fraim levels to remove the need for the Ikea side table which supported my RP10, NAT01 and switch. This enabled me to get the racks further from the speakers. The RP10 now sits on a Rega wall shelf. I also replaced the SL2 tweeters with a new Naim-matched pair and added a SCDR to power my Superline. All sounds fantastic.

Very nice! Am I alone in thinking the rp10 looks way better over the new style? So much more iconic to my taste, the arm color looks cooler this way.

Thanks Rex. Yes that’s always been my view and I do prefer having a decent dust cover on the TT.
