System Pics 2022

Yes, there is space but the box count doesn’t require any intervention yet. I don’t doubt I’ll find a solution, the much bigger question is whether it will be approved by this community

Well, I will issue my pre-approval…FWIW.

Yeah, this is nice. I had this one (I think it was this one) centuries ago. Have no idea when I sold it or to whom… so long ago.
Damn this was a good Tapedeck.

Unpacking the boxes and getting ready took much longer than actually connecting up the boxes. Thankfully no hiccups or problems apart from forgetting to turn the amp on.

Didn’t realise how much I’d missed my main system till I started playing something. Also if anyone mentions cable dressing I’m going find out were you live and call in.

No it’s only our rental, we haven’t even had our plans approved by council. I wasn’t going to setup my main system but seeing it might be at least 18 months before our new place wil be ready I’ve changed my mind.

2 years in and not even broken ground here yet. The temporary non Naim system has a lot to answer for. Mrs. FZ likes the look of it so much she keeps insisting that the whole house interior be the same walnut as the speakers, the same black as the grilles on a white background. I’d like to go in another direction but she just shushes me and points to the Omegas, “Like that, but everywhere.

We’ve decided to hire an interior designer so there’s a 3rd party we can both blame.

But fortunately we both have the same idea about how we want the interior to look like.

Lucky you. We have different tastes in house entirely. I’m more classic and earthy, she’s all ultra modern. So classic and any classic hints was vetoed. And I’m okay way that because Mrs. FZ should have the home she wants. But then we burned through god knows how many architects who just weren’t on our wavelength and so I designed our own house which breaks ground in Sep/Oct. But designing a house for an internal and external style that isn’t one you’d personally go with is really hard. Trying to design the best version of modern that Mrs. FZ will like on very sparse hints about preferences has left me sleepless and hairless on top to get there.

We both want the warehouse/NY loft type of finish, recycled timber floors and exposed brick with very little (if any) dry walls.

I think you need to purchase another set of fraims to get ready for a full blown Linn LP12 / superline/ supercapDR :crazy_face::crazy_face:

I’ll be off now

Don’t hold your breath.

Over here you can get small slivers of brick about an inch thick to make a wall effect where there is say aerated blocks, not sure if you have them down under?

Yep you sure can, I am tossing between bricking in full bricks or the 1/4 bricks with a support wall behind. Guess it’ll depend on costs.

We could probably move this to a new “I’m building a house and tearing my hair out” thread

Which speakers Christopher? ATC?
I’m considering downsizing my Kef R3’s with my SN3 to a smaller possibly sealed speaker. Looking for a bit more control as room is small 4x4M.

ATC SCM7s. They are fast and neutral. If they were a camera lens they would be described as achromatic. They strike me as having the attributes more commonly found in the Naim SBL and Quad ESL.

My room is roughly 5x3.5m.

70cm tall stands are by Audio Chic.
