System Pics 2024

Another month waiting for my Fraim Lite. Couldn’t resist adding the 555dr to the nDAC any longer.

How does it sound? My S-XPS is on the way this morning from the postie

I must say that the Ovators are nice looking speakers. I know a lot of people like Kudos speakers; but they are not the most attractive of speakers to have in your lounge…

I see this number on my smart metre nearly every morning. Depressing in one way, but always makes me smile!

It comes down to individual taste. I find the T808s to be quite attractive. They also sound rather good.

Well this is my newest system. Of course you will all recognise it as a N-NDX4 P DR
For those not in the know, that’s a Non-Naim 4Pi Disaster Recovery Streamer.

The Raspberry Pi with its HiFiBerry HAT was actually free, so this whole system costs nothing. I’ve no idea yet what I will use it for, but it would be a disaster recovery for the Main Naim System should I ever need it. (And of course as most know, if you have a DR process in place, you will never need it)

Fair point Clive. I have no doubt they sound fantastic, they are a very popular choice. I just wouldn’t get away with speakers that big with my wife!

From this…

To this…

Cable dressing also massively improved by bringing the Fraim further away from the wall.

I just have this frustrating overlap with the right speaker cable and my power supply. I’ll work it out eventually, had enough for one day!!! Just pleased the 555DR is now in place.

Update - that is the first time the Burndy from my 252 to SCDR has properly been relaxed enough to hang free. It might be my imagination; but the humming from the SCDR seems to be a lot quieter…I’m sure I am imagining it, but if not, and anyone else has the same problem, you just need to spend a load more cash to have enough Fraim levels to match the length of the cable… :joy:

It’s been an awfully long time since I posted here and quite a bit has changed since I did I suspect!

The Naim CDi is currently not in use as I needed its shelf for the Avid Acutus which is in on review…

Speakers are SCM40 passives in white with their C3C centre channel and SBL rears until I can scrape enough sheckles together for some ATC HTS11 or HTS40 on wall speakers for the rear channels. I also plan to put 4x HTS11 in the overhead for Atmos movies and music. We don’t have a TV but a Grandview fixed frame 120" projection screen and Optoma UHD55 4k projector and movies, concert films etc are almost as important to us as music.

The latest additions are the Lyra Kleos SL on the Gyro, the Keith Monks record cleaning machine and the cabinet to hold it and the frequently played/constant rotation records.

Dan. Switched wall output! Quelle horreur. :flushed:

That socket is used for router and switches only. Separate radial with unswitched sockets to the right for main system!

I did wonder where your 156 was plugged in…

What are you going to buy to fill those empty shelves???

In good news o’clock, my wife has not yet noticed the addition of an extra box in my stack…I feel like I should open a book on how long it takes

Just up until your first forgetting to wash up, or put the cats out. :+1:

Hi Jonathan, interested in the HTS11 overhead position. Do you know how that is done? Ive only ever seen them placed on walls. I would also like them for my ceilings but unsure of how to mount them

Thanks

I installed LEDs in the buttons  I decided to keep the Nait 3 and all the others are gone, Nait 2, Onix OA 20 and the Exposure X, also had all the Unitis but musically I like the Nait 3 best for my Kans  And a Flatcap is on the way.
