Aged well…
Perfect image to join the music at 12 noon. It’s similar to a north west Scotland image I have planned for my listening zone.
Have a browse of Nice Photos in the Lounge. IanF has taken some lovely Scottish landscapes which I think you might enjoy.
The Atom is such a pretty thing, pity its elegance and purity of design dident carry over to the Nova. It’ll be interesting to see if you’re new one sounds any different.
Hope Blamire (big web site) is my artist of choice for painted North West Scotland costal landscapes and I look forward to looking at photos from IanF thank you for the link.
Non-DR. It was a “nice to have” for me. It matches the version developed for the NAC 52, so DR wasn’t important to me. And it’s cheaper.
By the way, I had my olive system serviced in 2021 and it was the easiest “upgrade” I’ve ever done. Highly recommended if your’s hasn’t been serviced…in 20 years!
Agree, I always felt the Nova was two halves stuck together, it performs better than the Atom as you would expect but the Atom nails the form factor for sure.

Your system has come on so much and I love the changes! 2 Fraim stacks will work really well. A Fraim base will also enable you to get your vinyl up and running. Congratulations on all your new purchases! You’ve done ever so well picking up great deals.
Gorgeous olive system. Absolutely lovely!
Thanks Dan, I am in a happy place with it now, both in terms of the sound; but also not constantly wondering about the next thing (I can now just try and encourage other people to buy Scalas!).
Interestingly, whilst it still hums, the SCDR is definitely a lot quieter and far less noticeable than previously. I think this is mainly due to leaving it turned on constantly. Would this allow the 156 to be more effective? Not sure, but it has definitely improved. I doubt it was the relaxing of the Burndy cable I mentioned above, but that has no doubt helped the overall sound.
Your system is perfectly balanced. Two stacks would be better as you can use your turntable. Maybe turn your attention to the turntable. I am not sure what you have.
My LP12 is my main source for quality listening. But the ND555 get more use day to day.
I’m trying to figure out how it sounds. I moved, the room is new and I installed the speakers yesterday, just bought them. They told me the room is too reflective, I put a carpet but I don’t know what else to do. And maybe my ears are not that refined.
Some panels on the walls should help. They are quite bare.
Have a chat with GIK, they do a sale or return…
Typically you deal with first reflection points using the mirror method, depending on how far you want to go ceiling panels and corners can also be treated.
How big is you room, can you get the speakers further away from back wall, is your listening position up against a back wall - lots of questions but they all can make a difference.
Just a little suggestion, to increase sound quality : open the garden doors, and place your speakers in the garden. No walls reflexion anymore.
And put some bread on them to feed the birds.
Not this time of year! Way too cold!
You might want something on the left and right wall. Sit in your usual position, then get someone with a mirror to move up and down the side wall until you can see the speakers. That’s where you need something soft to prevent reflections
Before spending money move the speakers. Move them too close together and turn them inward. Gradually move them away from each other and find the best sound. If there is still too much reflection then look at panels.
What is the rack on the right?
It was designed by myself and brought into being by a very talented Cabinet Maker friend of mine.
He’s done quite a bit of bespoke work for me throughout our home.
