System Pics 2025

The German box do some things better and Pulse is good on some other things. Bridge is more like Ansuz. We’ll see where it ends up but synergy wise it is most likely I’ll stay with Bridge. If you need to tame a system adding body and warmth then Pulse. If you want more definition, top end and neutral sound then Bridge. A guess is a great part of the presentation also is LPS vs SMPS. I recognize the Pulse character from when I used Sbooster on Bridge II.

The Sense app is very good.

Bridge is very good value for money that is for sure.

Its funny how our ears work, different DACs etc but to me the Pulse is ahead of the ND5XS2 (as a transport) feeding a DAVE. One thing I did though is drop the coax connection in favour of a Kabeldirekt Toslink connection.

From what I’ve read about DAVE I’m sure Pulse has great synergy with it :+1:

Amazing. That’s so cool. What a terrific hobby - restoring those classics!

I bought it fully restored. It was restored in -85.

How does it ride?

I do not ride it. I am above 100kg, and there are not many of these out there. I bought it because it a piece of history and it is cool. And the rear rim is broken. But this is the system pics thread. Head over to the Flapjack and cappuccino thread in the Lounge part of the forum and we can talk bikes for hours.

Musical Fidelity A1 out on loan with the Densen returned but the mate I lent it to is trying to build out a Densen system and so far secured CD Player.

Naim 50 sounding incredibly muscular on the Kef ls50 metas firing across the cabin and out of shot.

…would that be 1885?..
crashed in the first year…

Hi, I have the same nc250 and 222 as you, linked with a Vertere Redline XLR, I am looking to change up to a new pair of speakers. How would you rate the bass on your D2R’s? I have a relatively smallish room, 3m x 4m, so can’t put them too far out from the wall. I’m worried they may be ‘too much’ for the size of the room. Also have the dreaded neighbours close by! They’ll sit on some SS-6 stands complete with those amazing Isoaccoustic Gaia 3 feet…

I absolutely love the D2R’s. My room is a similar size to yours and they are absolutely fine. They are front ported so can go close to rear wall. Great bass but not overwhelming. However, the best feature is the ribbon tweeters - so transparent but not analytical. I could never go back to dome tweeters

The other thing to say is that they sound wonderful at lower volumes so they are neighbour friendly

Hi thanks for that. I was thinking maybe the DB1’s would be better, but having read your reply, I will set up a demo. Nearest dealer is about 60 miles away, hopefully have a pair in the boot on the way back, thanks again

Hi @Bevo
Yes I sold it to someone in Australia, I had posted a pic of the Nat 02 on the Roon forum a while ago and he saw it and asked if I was thinking of selling it.
It was collected from me on a Monday and was with him on the same Thursday which was impressive.
He has a lot of Naim equipment and mentioned this forum which he said he mainly lurks on , that prompted to me have a look and is why I joined as the forum was active as well as interesting.
