are you going to reopen your ‘FrankenDibbles’ thread as you go along?

First post after a few months of lurking. This is a great community and I am learning a lot. Acknowledge there’s lots to improve on my system. The Naim electronics are 20+ years old. But recently dusted off and sounding great.

Having a bit of a swap around.

Densen off the bench and in for Technics with Rega RP6 ND7, Teac and Wiim ultra with Fiio R2R Dac in front of both into the Kef R3’s (out of shot).

Densen B400 plus and Wiim Plus pro, the latter via MF Mx-Dac into the MF A1 and Kef ls50 metas and twin Kc62’s.

Naim Nait 50 now has Technics above it and switched Denafrips Enyo 15th around, rerouted cables. Denon Dcd1700NE direct to N50 Wiim Ultra via Coax to N50 via Denafrips.

Lovely to see the Technics is still getting stage time. I keep wanting to find something deficient in this amp…I just cannot. Even the integrated phono stage and HP stage are brilliant to my ears.

And those meters…….

Hey Neil,

Totally agree, the phono stage is so quiet, I’ve hardly ever used the headphone output with it being in the cabin I don’t disturb anyone anyway.

I just decided to roll out the Densen as it hadn’t had a play for a while and I had loaned it and the power amp to a mate who tracked down a DM10 as he loves the Densen sound so much.

So in all the swapping around thought I’d plug in the integrated as I’d have to say it’s my favourite amp of all time.

Well it hasn’t disappointed, in the fact the opposite and must now resist having an interest in the Oeiphi Lounge 2 speaker, sounds interesting and a good stable mate for Densen.

But right now it’s sounding pretty damned good on the Kef R3 Metas.

The Technics is in good company on the sidelines for now as it’s joined my Supernait 3 HCDR, they’ll get swapped back in at some point.

And whilst completely unrelated the euphoria following last nights Bears ridiculous comeback win over the Cheesheads has left me in good mood.

MF A1 always handy for the colder months. :fire:

I can only imagine how hot the original got, it does get proper toasty.

One of the only amps I’ve owned that I actively turn off.

I have just changed my cd player from Naim CD5Si to a preloved Rega Saturn MK3. Quite an uplift I must say, and a sad thing to say Naim-wise I guess. But it is quite a player for the price.

I am now using a random RCA cable that’s been lying in my closet for ages, but aim to test the Rega Couple 3 yet, as it was suggested to me by a Rega enthusiasist.

PS. Those white NAC A5 cables are a novelty, too. Needed a longer pair than my previous 3,5m Kudos KS-1 was and decided to try nacas once again. Happy, very happy with the sound!

No Naim electronics at the moment but still a big fan of the brand

The main system is the office system at the same time, where during the day the FM tuner is the most used source. If necessary the speakers can double as standing desk - a very practical and very musical furniture indeed.

Slow improvements here in Baden.

Hi everyone - it’s been a while since I posted here… 18 years to be exact (on the old forum), which is when I sold my last system to fund a house build in Australia just after the birth of my daughter. Back then I’d built “up” to a CD3.5 / 72 / Snaps / 140 feeding Linn Katans, and was very happy with what I’d got but could also easily justify moving it on for bigger picture life events.

Fast forward to today, 3 international moves and 15 or so houses later, and I’ve just got my feet wet again based around 112X / Flatcap2 / 150 feeding Sonus Faber Sonnetto I G2. Front end is a CD5, except it would be if it worked (disc error despite a new transport), so have pressed an old Sonos Connect into service while I consider a new front end.

Apologies for the rambling, but this serves as an intro and an opportunity to post a couple of pics.

Cheers, Jon

Thank you - it’s a work in progress, but we’re very happy with how it’s coming along

Last year I managed to find a CB Nat02 to pigeon pair with the Nait2. Thanks @Rods, I use it everyday through the main system which is 552 into ATC100ASL’s. Sounds sensational!
