Very nice, I love the apparent simplicity of what is a very good good system

Thanks, I’ve been on a mission to downsize and simplify things over the past few years. If I didn’t like the SN2 so much I’d probably just have a streaming amp with speakers and nothing more. There’s an Innuos Zen Mini there too but it’s not connected now as I had to move the wifi extender and no way of hard wiring it with ethernet cable (the wifi extender is on a plug socket on the ceiling! Massive improvement to stability and coverage though)

Yes, I am moving in the next 12 months after 55 years living in the house. (Off and on)

The audio equipment may well be changed , but not my loyalty to Naim.

The fewer boxes with less clutter the better

Hi Joeling

did you swap out your Glanz tonearms? If so, may I ask why and what you preferred?

many thanks

Hi,

Yes I did. Removed all the Glanz arms. I just could not make them sing for some reason. Prefer the Fidelity Research FR64S / 66S or the Korf high mass arms and moved to medium mass Thales Statement for the DS Audio Grandmaster Cart.

Not much change here. I was finally forced into repairing my UQ2 screen due to a wifi upgrade and password change. Glad I did though, very pleased with the results. Looks perfect. Other than that I got some Ariva speakers in a lovely cherry finish in as new condition. I swapped out the grills for some custom foam ones as I think they look better and more in keeping with my system. They sound great. Still rocking the Nap 120 and Nac 22. Very fun to listen to and surprisingly powerful too. Would love DBL’s one day but not sure where or how I’d begin to source a set. Still have my Nap 250 bolt down and 32.5 and sondek. Annoyingly my unitiserve is also on the blink but not sure that will be a diy fix so have to arrange to return to Naim for a service. Anyway enough rambling, here are some pics.

Thanks joeling

that’s interesting. How do you find the groove master iv-in terms of sound and functionality?

also have you run SPUs on either the Fr64s or groove master?

Love this. Did you repaint the IBL’s? Any other pics? Thanks.

I have the III and IV but in different setups. I really like the III paired with the My Sonic Labs Paltinum. Not crazy money and sounds pretty decent. That’s why I went for the IV also on the same model of cartridge but in a different system. Still a work in progress on that for now.

Beautiful

Hi, I have some Neat Petites on order and I currently use the same stands. I am just interested which size top plates you use on them as I have both sizes. Thanks in Advance.

No problem at all, their fantastic little speakers.
I just measured the top plate their 170mm x 130mm.

Hi I resprayed them in glorious red! 10 coats of red 10 coats of clear coat, sand and polish

I just (again) realized how damn good the uq2 is. Have it in my bedroom for tv - it’s perfect. Also in playing music.

Good job! They look amazing!!

In an impulse decision I decided to go all black on my cross overs. I think this was the right move, the front of my living room is starting to look like way to much wood lol!

But importantly a major development thanks to James at TomTom, was that my lovely DBLs now have proper drivers. Those not following should pick up the frankendibbles thread.

Well short and short is with the ATC drivers in place and with some further tweaks to the crossover, I have something rather special here.

The mother pair Roy George speakers in my living room. Love it!

Superb, Gary. Great workmanship on the DBL and crossover finish. Time to sit back and enjoy your hard graft.

Listening now. Its just something else, the final tweaks to the cross over finished today. I have not heard the naim original crossover or infact DBLs lol. However the gent helping me making these cross overs has years of experience and knows his stuff for sure!

I cannot say how delighted I am to have taken a punt on these speakers in their original condition. Its not lost on me I had to replace the key components of bass drivers and cross overs. Very much a Triggers broom. But these speakers have such provenance that I think its worth the outlay. I hope that Roy will be pleased!
