System Upgrade speaker cable question

Yes, that’s good advice. I’ll stick to that list. Like you say; keep it simple. What do you use out of interest?

I have active speakers so they don’t use speaker cables as such. Previously I used Kudos KS-1, and if you asked me for a recommendation that that’s what I’d suggest. It combines good musical communication with a very small form factor. Some people look at it and dismiss it because it’s so thin, but looks deceive and it’s a very fine cable. The price is very reasonable too, at just over £30 per metre.

Certain things are mostly taken for granted, in my experience reality has been different. However you should look for the solution more suitable for your goal. So, if I may, I’d suggest you to look for the type of sound you enjoy and find the best way to get there. It could be anything from the source to cables or room treatment. Or maybe the 282/250, who knows.

That’s a wise approach. I landed on the NDX2 because I like its presentation, others may prefer stand alone DACs or other streamers.

Well the first part, that being the 282, is due to be plumbed in to replace the 202 which I’ll then move on in the New Year. I don’t want to do it just yet with all the Christmas stuff to do so it will have to wait until New Year. It will give me a chance to do a system teardown and clean up and all the cable management. The Qute2 is still on the front end as I’ve just got my NDX back so lots of re-arranging to be done. As I mostly stream stuff nowadays off the UnitiServe and my network servers I might take the NAT05 out and just listen to net radio instead so I can locate the power amp and HiCap away from everything else. I don’t stack anything and each on it’s own shelf but my pre-amp is sitting on the shelf above the 200DR which may not be far enough away. For now the CD player has a stay of execution. I have 6 shelves and where the system is located means I can’t put in a second rack.

I’m curious to hear your thoughts, surely the 282 is an interesting piece of kit. You have busy times ahead for sure!

It’s the same for me, it has always worked perfectly. However the source is on its own shelf above everything else.
