He had a great voice, never got to see him…..r.i.p Terry
I’ve listened to Terry from the start, quality stuff, great live act. Saw him a few times, last time a few years back in Oran Mor Glasgow, nice down to earth guy mixing with the punters having a few beers before the show.
R.I.P Terry thanks for everything.
Sadly, if the past few weeks are anything to go by, we really should have a separate RIP section on this forum.
As Robert Plant has posted (Supper Lungs indeed) RIP Terry Reid.
One of the great rock voices, thanks for all the choons.
R.I.P. Terry.
RIP Terry, Superlungs and Superplayer.
Sad loss…
Really sad news.
I have seen Terry in concert many times. Ronnie Scott’s on at least 3 occasions.
I saw him once in New York at BB Kings. I took a few photos. When I got back home I got a few of the best ones printed and enlarged.
I was next due to see him at Ronnie Scott’s so I took the photos with me.
Before the gig I went to the Dog & Duck as I had seen him in there before a previous gig.
Sure enough he turned up again. At a suitable moment I went over to him and showed him the photos. “Oh yeah I remember that guitar” he said.
I asked if he would mind signing them for me. No probs and he dedicated one to me, one to my wife and the other to my mate.
They are proudly framed up and displayed.
He was a lovely chap and seriously talented.
I’m very sad this evening.
So very sad. Will be spinning up tonight one of my most prized albums. Rip Terry and have a safe journey on your way, & remember we never stop playing.
Great.
