The Amazing Adventures of Kavelier and Clay. New opera thst opened the season of NYC’s Metropolitan Opera. If you are in NYC in the next couple of weeks, go see it. Mind blowing. Also made me think how far, even our best systems are from live large scale music.
Wonderful! I have tix for next weekend, and your review has whet my appetite!
We had drama. My husband purchased by accident from a third party broker. We did not get our tickets till yesterday morning. We tried to get into the Met restaurant and could not. This was the first time at the Met for us since 2011. The composer and librettist spoke at our synagogue. I hope they release a recording. The sets and staging are special.
@Middle Are you a subscriber?
Ugh, when you google Met Opera now, often the first several hits are ticket brokers that look just like the official Met site. And the Grand Tier restaurant is 100% reservations these days, not like it used to be. Still, there is nothing like the Met Opera when it’s humming. Absolutely peak.
Yes, I am a subscriber. When I moved to New York, I wasn’t sure if I liked live opera or not. It turns out that I really, really do.
B/C of disability, there cud not enough leg room for me in the tiers so I need to sit in the orchestra. How long in advance do you need to reserve is the restaurant?
Some of those orchestra- level accessible seats are great. I applaud the Met for that, as I haven’t seen that commitment everywhere.
Re: Grand Tier restaurant/when to reserve: pretty far in advance, in my experience. Next weekend seems to be already booked …
Thanks so much.
Great show. Thanks for the review here last week!
Glad you liked it.
Once I get my two NPX300 units, would you like to visit and listen?
Innovative Audio is your dealer? Give me a shout when they’re in.
Yes they are my dealer. I will reach out when they come in.
@Middle The NPX300 power supplies for my system have been installed.
Excellent! Enjoy. Keen to visit and have a listen sometime.
Let me know when you can.
