Through the R2 station vua TuneIn on the Node. 339kbps. Not a great quality level to be passing through a 252/300 …

On the pop side, the 12” of The Walk is my absolute favourite.

Here in the states Disintegration was a commercial success and it ended up getting a lot of play with us.

Better than 128kbps though!

I’ve heard this a few times on Radio Paradise but I can’t make up my mind if I love it or hate it  Bluegrass Cure

Something like 30y ago i used to be a Cure fan and avid collector of vinyls and CDs especially 17sec./Faith/Pornography. Disintegration was a great album as well. I also saw them on tour in Milan in 1992. Then in ‘05 i sold the whole collection. Over the last decade i bought again the basic discography but honestly today i’ d have a boredom feeling listening R. Smith voice

Caught a part of the Radio 2 concert yesterday on 6. “In a Forest” had me dancing in the kitchen whilst cooking some pasta.

Saw them at the Royal Albert hall back when they were just breaking out.

I’m loving this live stream from the Troxy, not much in the way of pop Cure but that suits me just fine

Wow, 31 songs over the best part of 3 hours, even more gutted I didn’t get a ticket

We’ve just watched the R2 concert. Wonderful, and they played The Walk, which was a nice surprise. I love the way Simon Gallup still plays the bass at the level of his knees.

The R2 concert is very good, for those who haven’t watched it yet; 3 new songs, a few hits, 10 minute “endsong” is soooo good.

Not sure one can access BBC iplayer from outside of the UK. Luckily, BBC2 is now broadcasting it on old fashioned linear tv. It’s quite good!

Easily. I watch BBC, ITV et al from Australia.
VPN and/or DNS Proxy is your friend…

I still have the first four or five Cure LPs in a record box.

In 1983, I travelled (mainly pillion) on motorbikes with three friends from Solihull to Port Eliot in the parish of St Germans, Cornwall to a festival called the Elephant Fayre where The Cure was the headline act.

A memorable trip, but the band seemed to be about a mile away on stage that Saturday night.

Searching on Qobuz some new music, I found that. May interest you guys. Or perhaps you know already.

FR, that’s what this whole thread is about!!
Coupled with the release of the new lp, which was first mentioned 5 years ago, there’s been a whole “celebrate the cure” thing on tv.

Ah well, I didn’t knew it was the same as on bbc.

Lovely Jubbly – Nice 4Gb 1080p file of the Troxy gig saved to HDD. Another one for the archive :grinning:

Aside from the opening run through of SOALW, the section of songs from 17 Seconds and Faith was brilliant – as Robert said, 45 years ago since he and Simon were on stage playing those songs…!

Reeves was very good, some great solos, especially EndSong. He’s not Porl, but he’s superb and a playing style that belies his skill and technique….
I actually thought Robert played more prominent guitar parts than normal, nice to see/hear….

Brilliant concert…and considering live streamed, the sound and camera work was top notch….
