Its an interesting move from new Naim company owners.
Maybe they have experienced Hekla was no success ?
I bet there’s a large market for this revised Mu-so, but also for a revised Qb, if this ever will materialize, hopefully not Utopia priced.

Is it different from the Hekla? Looks very similar (at a glance).
Yes, apart from a different finish, it has internal upgrades and improved performance.
What Hifi? have a first-look review of it on their website, which goes into more details.
I’ve been waiting to upgrade my still functioning Muso gen1
to a gen3 , and have a QB2 for another room. The announced CAD price for the utopia in few sites is somewhere near $10K, even $8.5K is a tad high. IMHO, this definitely isn’t a replacement for the Muso gen1/2 but rather a new category, based on that price.
Gen 2 still seems to be available from Naim, and they never tell you in advance if or when they are going to replace something with a new model. As your Muso1 is still working there’s no point thinking about it, and if it dues there’s the Muso2 if Utopia OTT, otherwise plenty of other things to choose from!
With the new Utopia (replacing Hekla?), and priced 3xMuso, I’d hardly expect anything affordable from Naim.
Qb is gone, only CI102 is reasonable for now, but its not build in Salisbury.
the muso line was more of a mass-market product rather than audiophile so it seems very strange to limit hekla and utopia sales to focal powered by naim stores. which must limit the customer base but at least the utopia is back to being a naim branded product
What’s reasonable? An Atom sounds good, is built in Salisbury and seems a pretty reasonable price to me.

I think the china manufacture issue is misunderstood. Naim should make their amps in the UK. I agree with that. Digital? Nah. Make it in China and lower the price. Naim could have been Eversolo if they did that. Think about it.
For a wireless streamer w good sound and in the muso gen1/2 price range & the styling (WAF), at the time (2016), it was the best i could find.
With 2 naim products, I don’t want to add another product from another company to yet deal with another app. Also the online/forum community as well the free internet radio support is one of the best ?
I’ll wait, maybe a muso gen3 is around the corner

Doubt it’s going to replace the Hekla, that device only came out in March this year so would make zero sense for it to do so, unless they want to upset a lot of people, although still can’t see the reasoning for a new device so soon that is identical in pretty much every way with upgraded drivers…
Not just upgraded drivers by the sound of it but also a more sophisticated Class A/B power amp stage for the high end drivers.
I used to lug around an original iMac, because I loved Bondi blue which reminded me of Jotunheim.

No, that’s incorrect. The Muso-2 is still in production.

So this thread is without foundation, nonetheless unnerving, just ordered a Muso 2!
Fantastic piece of kit. Love mine.
