The Grand Cafe

If you’re on the way to Mornington Crescent, Ealing Broadway

It just hit -11 here in Oslo this morning with a “feel like -14” tag. Now we just need the snow to really get every one in the outdoor mood.

I can not stress how important the snow is to everyone living in Northern climes, it brings brightness, which would ordinarily be a very long dark day and in these Covid times we need to get out and move.

The snow is a very welcome antidote to the sedentary life of a Covid world.

Thats a standard move. A bit like pawn e2-e4.

Earls Court.

I’m not use to the cold that you guys get but I’d say it’s the same feeling for us it’s summer. Summer seems to push us along, everybody get out an enjoys themselves it puts smiles on peoples face. This year has been wet and below average temperatures and after last years summer of constant days over 40c and fires down the entire east coast nobody’s complaining. A few hot sunny days wouldn’t hurt.

It’s a strange world.

There is most certainly no billiard in the Grand Cafe.

Mudchute, eh? DLR not Underground - that’s bending the rules! I think I have only one way out from there: Hainault (via Chigwell).

I told you it would end in tiers.

What ends tears seems like it just keeps going.

sir dane will be looking over your shoulder!

Yep let’s change the subject. How’s your day been or night depending on where you are.

It’s been better just recently. I listened to quite a bit of music today, something that I put on the backburner for the last month or so. I dunno, just didn’t feel like listening for a while there.

Then also, in breaking news, my middle daughter had a baby boy at 1 am yesterday morning. Her second. 8 lbs 9 oz, a big boy! So that was super positive and felt great. My second grandchild.

That’s about it. I think I’ll make a chicken curry for dinner today. I pre-marinate the chicken chunks and freeze it, so it’s pretty quick.
Cheers.

Congratulations. Great news. I haven’t listened to anything to day, between taking my 93 year old mother to the hairdresser and watching cricket.

Think we’re having a chicken tonight as well.

Watched a bit of “drama”. Went to an urgent school Board of Trustees meeting. Took Mrs Mike to the Hospital for here tri-weekly treatment and Miss Mike and I went to the Grand Parents. Home, rest, spa, swim and dinner. Girls now watching You-Tube music videos before bed.

Oh, and researched hi-fi racks and sent my dealer looking for what stock is available here. My pocket is already sweating…

That’s what the forum is for. Don’t think you’ll be better off with a proper rack.

We have a similar situation. We look after my mother and my cousin who are 96 and 97 respectively. They are both in homes (phew!), But they still require a fair amount of care from the outside, and visiting of course.
People are living so long these days eh? My mother outlived her brain, unfortunately. But thats a very common thing here these days, so I’m not complaining.
Enjoy your chicken!

Oh. Well, I can save some money then :sunglasses:
