I used to live in Canning Town in east London, if that’s of any help.
Is a colour choice that much of a problem, please tell me it makes no difference to the SQ. I’ve already had to eat one hat.
My Rega 3 is the old original with a smoked glass cover, so it probably needs a bright cover. Probably the red, like the big fish.
I miss Dans knowledge of Aus music, I’d often play something that I thought was obscure only to find out he knew more about it than me.
Which Fraim did you get @Pete_the_painter? Did it make much difference? My system sounds quite a bit better in the smaller room.
Got the Lite added glass on round nuts, I also added the SL cables at the same time so it’s hard to tell. I can say that the two combined made a reasonable difference in SQ. Hard to explain but it certainly sounded better. Think you already have the SL’s so it’ll be interesting to see how big of an improvement. Having your main system in a room rather than a lounge room (if that makes since) I think always improves the SQ and you don’t need as much volume.
I’m just taking the opportunity to listen to my trusty old deleted 272 for the first time since last Friday. The EE 8Switch has surprised me.
Don’t tell me I’ve stumbled on another switch thread
No, that’s the last thing we need.
I don’t even understand mine.
So, my dealer won’t be Naim dealer anymore.
What does that mean
He will no longer be required by Naim to sell their products, along with the Distributer and his network of retailers. The Distributer is also no longer required for servicing Naim gear either…
Woh that’s fcked, why would anyone spend big on something you can’t get serviced. I know this will probably get deleted but I think they’re lost the plot or we just don’t count.
Presumably the new retailers and the distributer (your mate in Australia BTW) will be responsible for warranties, not sure about the servicing of new gear going forwards, but the old-gang will look after their exisiting clients.
There does seem to have been a bit of a clear out in NZ by HQ in the UK it seems.
Spending $50K on Naim stuff in NZ for Naim to then dump their local world class servicing agent kinda sucks.
Predictably it’s all about money. Problem is Naim aren’t owned by audiophiles any more it’s now just a capital venture and we all know what that means. Profit at all costs.
And, ahem, there is an imminent “lifestyle” streamer pre-amp that is a departure from the traditional Naim design philosophy… My money is on Uniti style unit with no ability to add a separate power supply.
I wouldn’t try and predict which way they went but they’re disrupted the distribution here and obviously now NZ. If my guy lost Naim I would look elsewhere and stick with him. Will your guy still service your stuff.
I’ll be staying with my dealer.
I believe so, still awaiting the formal email newsletter.
