The Grand Cafe

There was a gap of 11 hours where nothing appeared. On any thread. Might have been weather related. Your coincidental absence also made it eerily quiet.
Weather forecasters will be first up against the wall come the revolution. :sunglasses:
Only kidding.

I know that when weā€™re in Canada (donā€™t know when that will next be) I occasionally look in on the Forum of an evening. But with the 8 hour lag behind GMT, I sometimes feel iā€™m the only one here. And you guys in Aus and NZ are nearly always well into tomorrow.

True weā€™ve already had the revolution and you guys missed it (and lost).

You will need to elaborate

Sorry I miss read your post re the revolution.

Would that be a picked onion, love that on fresh crusty bread and a bit of lettuce.

Are you Hungry Pete ? A Greggs pasty in the UK is a kind of guilty pleasure , they taste much better than they should . Theyā€™re not quite the Naim Audio of pies but loved all the same .

I do miss the Aussie Pies though . I remember a really great roadside Aussie Pie Place in North Shore Sydney , about halfway from Manly to Palm Beach . I think it was well known , do you know it ?

Weā€™ve always been blessed with good meat pies, doesnā€™t matter where you go if thereā€™s a cake shop they generally do a decent pie. Government have just changed the law re the amount of meat which was a bit of a concern but so far it doesnā€™t seem to have a negative effect.

Reminds me of my days living in east London and the pubs with topless hour :flushed:

Hopefully a pint didnā€™t cost you 59 quid

Did everyone take their tops off for an hour? Mustā€™ve been a bit whiffy in hot weather!

It was actually stripper hours that they used to run in the working class pubs. Quite fascinating looking back at it now.

Sorry, I was teasing! Never appealed to me, I always felt sorry for the girls.

One time when I was ran a rock disco the landlord of the pub where I had a few regular slots decided that to entice more customers on a Monday heā€™d hire a stripper. i had to move myself to the side of teh stage, and before for each of her several sessions in the evening sheā€™d come over and weā€™d chat for a couple of minutes, then Iā€™d put on her tape of music, while she danced almost next to me, then sheā€™d come back wearing nothing but a thong (sorry, for you down under, g-string!), and sometimes sit and chat for 5 minutes or so before putting a top on and going off stage. I preferred to blast out rock all night with only people in the audience moving to the music!

I guess Iā€™ll be listening to a bit more music for the next few days. I fell while walking the dog this morning and have broken my ankle.

Oh crap, that sounds painful and isnā€™t a flash thing to do. Take care and speedy recovery mate.

No my way to hospital now for plaster or a moomboot
