Sorry to hear of your accident. At least you have an excuse to sit and listen to music all day if you want! But i guess you can also get into your studio and paint? Masterpieces coming!

Snow related injury?

Snow. Not much chance of that where I live. No it’s just me being clumsy and falling off the gutter while walking my dog.

Oh, bad luck - not good. How long will it take to recover?

Gutter?
Pete, for us Brits, we normally see a gutter on bottom of a roof, to take away water.
Are you walking the dog on the roof?

Well, gutters also refer to those things at the sides of roads that also take away water.

Ok, we would call them gulley’s or drains.
Stay safe.

No for us the gutter is between the footpath and the road. The guttering is on the roof. It’s amusing that we all speak English but the choice of words and meaning can be different.

4 to 6 weeks, hopefully no surgery will be required.

Typically recovery time depends on age.
I’m in my 60’s and at my age fractures tend to take longer to heal (3 months for ski injury collar bone), and also factor in the physio afterwards to get the joints working properly.

I’ve just turned 66 hopefully recovery won’t take that long.

Not that different. I would agree with your choice of words here. As would my father have - he was a quantity surveyor.
