Ever noticed that when something good happens God gets the credit but whenever there’s a natural disaster (earthquake fires etc) Mother Nature gets the blame
Unless the insurance companies are involved - then they are all Acts of God, and so not covered.
No a bit more diverse please Hanoverians are all over the place. There are several options.
… but the Aussies might like to cooperate with ‘Sealand’ too:
Most of the noble families are in urgent need of money since they need to maintain their castles. It might be feasible to convince a member of the House of Habsburg to give the crown to.
An Aussie royal family would have to be known as The Kangaroo Court, it can’t be anything else.
We do have one Principality in Western Australia but I think he’s now given up.
I blieve this one in UK may have claim to the smallest principality, or rather not quite in…
I seen a doco one that one few years ago.
Just an update on my mate he has finally finished his chemo/radiation treatment. They have managed to shrink the tumours to give him a little more time. He probably now has between 6 months and 2 years (hopefully the latter) and there’s not much else they can do for him. Now that’s all behind him we can finally plan our road trip.
Also on a separate note I had the weirdest dream last night that Mrs Pete, Diesel and I booked into a resort in Torquay (UK) run by Naim. Richard was the maître D and put us up in a store room. He did spend some time with Diesel though .
I’m obviously spending way too much time in the forum. Now the rains gone it’s time to do the lawn and hedge.
Don’t know about Mrs P and diesel but store room might be the right place for you Pete if you’re having such dreams . Hopefully you had a few beers to pass the time
This is great news, make it a good quality and special time.
Possibly…
It wasn’t called Fawlty Towers was it, by any chance? If so, how was Richard’s version of Basil?
That’s where the building was indeed.
I would prefer Cafe Rene in Nouvion - as long as madame Edith remains silent.
Richard could play agent Crabtree.
I would have to run 30-40m of cable to get it from my router to basement . Is that too long ?
You can run Ethernet up to 100m.

Some interesting research being done with seaweed in Aussie.
Very interesting. I was an algologist for several years. There are so many ways that we use seaweeds already, with or without farming it. This looks like some very useful projects.
You “were” Beachcomber? I know you spend much of your time on that 3D printer…what do you do now, may I ask?
Edit: The reason I ask is that in another life, I would like to have studied this area and perhaps made a career doing something along the lines we see in the film.
Now I am retired - working on repairing and improving the barn, which lost its roof in high wind a bit over a year ago. Roof was eventually repaired (by a rather better one), and I have been re-working the workshop area - new bench, router table etc. - and currently I am making window and door frames for an area at one end of the barn, for my wife who does gardening. Before I retired, I started as a marine biologist, principally an algologist, first on a contract to Bechtel to survey the Orkney Isles for the then current oil levels and plant and animal communities. Then I worked on a 5-year contract for the Nature Conservancy Council (as it was then) to survey the whole of the intertidal region of the UK, describing habitats and species communities, and recommending areas for SSSIs and nature reserves. Then a computer software engineer for many years, with a spell as a teacher (Maths, Computing, Forensic Photography, Human Biology and Photography at Exeter college) and then back to computing. Quite fun - but the biology was what I was most interested in.
Yes, a very interesting and varied work life you have had.
Paddling around in the mud around the British Isles doesn’t quite give the same appeal as swimming around the Kelps Forests of Southern Australia though.
The acidification of the oceans is a big concern, my admiration for people why are involved in trying to solve some of the problems outlined in the film is…sea deep.
