The Grand Cafe

I saw this on the ceiling in my hall. Is this mildew?

Call CSI, looks like “Blood Splatter” to me…:skull::rofl:

My first thought. I may have been watching too many ‘tec series.

I’d say it is but it might be better to get a professional opinion.

Got your budgy smugglers packed yet Pete

Off to Kathmandu this morning

Ok! So it’s my sons wedding day.
The father of the bride and I are out running some errands and I get a flat tyre🤦🏻‍♂️
Fortunately, even though quite a rare tyre to keep in stock, I have found one and the guy is fitting it now.
What’s life without a little drama. :man_shrugging:t2::joy:

Sod’s law indeed……hope it improves during the day.

Have a great day. I am sure the errands can wait!

That’s usually part of the fun. I saw a fully dressed up groom and presumably his dressed up mom (ascot style) panicking on the highway last week with a broken old timer.

I’m not sure thats any way to describe mr QS. :grinning:

Turned out to be not just the Tyre but the wheel as well…

New tyre fitted and wedding going swimmingly. Hottter than hell, but we’re surviving.
Photo’s tomorrow, as we have a social media embargo for today😊
PS… It was a pot hole in the road, by the way.

Less embarrassing than saying you kerbed it
Anyway hope everything goes well and looking forward to the photos.

Those low profile tyres and rims wouldn’t last a week where we live.

How’s was the wedding?

Really good, my son gave a very emotional speech that made both him and his mum cry. I might even have shed a tear myself.
Exhausted now. The youngsters are still partying.

Yeah, I did that yesterday, took a piece of rubber out and gouged most of the rim. I’m hoping it’s safe (it’s less than the 25mm allowance for a warrant and the cord isn’t exposed) and I’ll paint the gouges in the rim. And I only nipped the kerb at a crawl pulling up to the MIL’s drive.

Well, a lovely day had by all.
Very hot  but most enjoyable.
Everybody took the social media embargo rather seriously, so there aren’t very many informal pictures that I’ve come across.
Here is the one that I had taken of the top table just before the speeches.

My grandson had a great time and refused to sleep until nearly midnight.
Good effort considering he’s only 18 months and only had a 30 minute nap around 11:30am😁

Hi Pete

You mentioned on another thread that you’re trying the Keto diet.

When I googled it I see people making positive claims about it, but also some criticizing it as it involves eating a higher a proportion of fat instead of carbohydrates.

Do you have any good sources of information on how it works?

Thanks
James

{Sorry for ‘thread drift’ - if that is possible on this thread. :grinning:}

Hey @Pete_the_painter, when are you on a plane?

I’ll just about in the air in about 24 hours from now. Plane leaves at 8.50pm.
