That is very worrying, Pete. As you say, they seem to do quite well at fixing this, so let’s hope that you are one of the lucky ones. You have a lot of people here wishing you the very best. But please - do what the doctors suggest, and don’t just hope that it will go away.
Dear Pete,
I’m sorry to hear this (potentially) bad news. I do hope that the outcomes of your forthcoming tests are of the “least-bad” type. After your initial reluctance, I’m sure that your head is well and truely out of the sand now and that you will take all of the doctors’ (and Mrs P’s) orders!
As others have said, you’ll get nothig but positive support here - we ageing music fans need to stick together!. Like many others, I am on the other side of the world from you, but always enjoy hearing about life and hi-fi in Australia.
Best wishes,
Brian D.
Look after yourself Pete, and above all, keep painting!
Very sorry to hear this news Pete, but accepting it is already half way to fixing it and I know there are lots of us who don’t actually know you but care a lot about how you get on. Good luck with the investigations and best wishes generally David
Pete, best wishes for a long, and enjoyable, life.
Willy.
Sht Pete. Nothing much to say but wish you the best on the outcome of tests and management of it, I have a mate in the UK diagnosed with it a year ago and it is being managed well with drugs, no change to his lifestyle. He’s still playing tennis and running rings round younger opponents.
Keep positive and let the docs do their stuff. No more ignoring health issues. (This from someone who has been putting off my annual prostate follow up, now booked )
Very sorry to read your news, Pete, hopefully the medics will get onto things and quickly resolve matters for you.
In the meantime, keep painting, turn the music up LOUD, and know that you have the best wishes and support of everyone here.
Dave.
Wishing you all the best, I’m not good at words in this context so here’s a question:
What would you consider your favourite painting? I’d like to have a look if it is to be found online.
Pete, so sorry and shocked to hear your news. Not much I can add to what has already been said but stay positive and my very best wishes for successful treatment.
Very sorry to hear this news Pete.
However, as others have noted, staying positive whilst accepting it, is already half way to fixing it. I’m sure the healthcare people will move to improve your situation quickly.
There is no doubt all of us care a lot about you and how you get on.
Best wishes,
Don
All the best, stay positive, it will be a good sign if you upgrade your Naim.
Pete, sorry to hear you’ve had this news. Fingers crossed for you. As many have said the forum is a good place for both distraction and support, so looking forward to seeing your posts on all subjects, but take breaks whenever you feel the need.
My thoughts are with you and Sue.
Eoin
Very sorry to hear your news, Pete.
Look after yourself.

Sorry to hear this Pete. There’s many types of chronic leukaemia and frequently people live with it staying stable for many years before something else carries them off. Don’t ignore it, take the best advice and stay positive.
Pete, sending along a good thought and a prayer that you can walk through the coming weeks/months with grace and courage. Life has its highs and lows…
In the past 8 years I have had open hear surgery (triple by-pass) in February 2015 and a radical prostatectomy (cancer) in January 2016. Not anything I wanted and would have liked to avoided. But life happens and we need to suit up and face the music.
One thing for sure is I would not have made it to this nice old age of 72 if I did not follow my doctors advice.
With the cancer I did look at several options for treating the cancer and chose the surgery. I not only consulted with physicians but also spoke with other men who chose the different methods of treatment. Sort of like demoing a hi-fi component and not just buying the first item I listened to in the show room. …be an active participant in your care.
Life is sweet!
Pete, just want to add my very best wishes to you on this news and wish you all the best on treatment. Hopefully your music and your many friends on this forum will help you through difficult times, along with the love and support of your family.
All the very best for coming times.
Guess it’s part of aging. I use to brag that at the ripe old age of 68 I wasn’t on any medication whatsoever, think I’m the only one in my circle of friends that been pill free.
That’ll teach me to keep my mouth shut.
I’ve been rattling with pills since I was 25
Pete, I am very sorry to read this, and hoping that full investigations give better news.
Don’t stop playing music, do carry on painting and most importantly stay positive.
Now, until further notice, I am sending you all the good vibes and thoughts I can.
Best Regards
GeoffC
Wow that’s a long time the only drugs I’ve taken have been recreational (and not many of those either).
Mrs Pete’s been on medication for over 30 years.
