Thanks Geoff, as I said earlier I intend to fight.
Yeah, Iāve had a mechanical Aortic Valve since 1990. It needs me to take Anticoagulants ever since. Plus thereās a few others Iāve ended up taking along the way.
Itās 8 tablets a day now, 4 am and 4 pmš¤·š»āāļø
Sht you must rattle when you walk.
Hey Peteā
Sorry Iām late on this, was away a bit over the wāendā¦
Crap news to read this morningā¦but Iām positive for you. I confess to not being great at finding words in situations like thisā¦but I wholeheartedly echo a lot of the great comments and thoughts already posted hereā¦.GeoffC nails it, and the caring encouragement from the likes of Bevo, Mike, Gazza, David (Hendon and 1111), Don, IanW, JimDog and all the others cover everything I would like to expressā¦.
Keep your head up, which I feel is a huge part of the fight, and it seems like youāre already thereā¦.It sounds like you have a large, caring and supportive family, which will do you wondersā¦.and you are also clearly liked and loved around here, another familyā¦.I know everybody will be with you.
You are a big part of the forum and it will be great if you can keep your fingers typing as and when you can and when you feel like it ā both for you and everyone else!..ā¦I drifted away from the forum later in the 2000ās but of late have enjoyed dipping in again (apart from the usual bolloc*s and old suspects) and now that Iām walking Down Under and eating Vegemite Sandwiches I enjoy the giggle at the musings and banter that you often stir up ā plus a bit of HiFi tooā¦
Anywaysā¦.I reckon youāre a tough old bugger, the bricks would have seen to that for sureā¦! And if you can survive electrocuting yourself and giving the Darwin Awards the swerve, then this will be a stroll for you, albeit with a couple of bumps maybeā¦.
Iām on Dry January at present (how many days does Jan haveā¦?!), but I raise a virtual glass to youā¦.If I manage to get over East later this year, Iād love to meet up and sink a few real ones with youā¦ā¦Besides, I need to rootle around your Skipā¦!
As @GeoffC says so well:
Donāt stop playing music, do carry on painting and most importantly stay positive.
All best,
Steve
Thank you.
All the best from the DGs.
DGā¦
Youāre not trying hard enough. I now take 10 a day, for some sort of weird autoimmune condition I was diagnosed with a few years ago.
Age is catching up with us all by the sounds of things.
Thanks Pete, at 67 I am saying I am pill, freeā¦
My knee being totally knackered at the moment
Best wishes
Ian
Youāve still got 2 years.
68 this month, another year older but not wiser
Knew you were a good man, Iām 69 later this month.
Bloody eck, must have been something in the water back in the day. Iām 69 tomos.
It was a heatwave here the weekend I was born plus 2 fatal shark attacks.
Would have been the opposite for you guys.
And a very happy birthday.
I think before age catches up with me itās going to be the ever warming planet boiling me into a slimy puddle that gets meā¦!
I do enjoy a Perth summerā¦.
68 next month. Hmmm ā¦ that makes me Aquarius tho ā¦
Me too, mines the 29th. Not that I believe that stuff.
Hi Pete just found out your medical news. I must have been a huge shock but it sounds like you will be in the best of hands.
Speaking as GP Iāve a few patients who have the CLL variant of the disease and they lead a normal life without treatment and they never seem to get unwell from it. Iāve had 2 more recent cases of different types of leukemia that are doing very well on treatment.
These days the picture is much improved and I donāt think it is the ākiss of deathā it used to be.
All the best and make sure you have a glass of Langmails now and then and a dollop of great music with it. We are here for you.
Ahh ā¦ a fellow Aquarian. Always done things a little differently than other people, I suppose ā¦
I only give astrology a certain amount of respect. It is funny how similar things or people are according to some of the directives tho.
I have two friends who are the same age and were born on the same day, and man, they are so alike in two or three different ways.
