I’d like to think we got a clue earlier in this topic
Would that then imply a ‘100’ series ?
Based on the boxes that we know, I would guess the homage is to the mono block 135 → 350.
Yes, of course!
+1
Fwiw, we’ve managed to get the performance of NSC 222/NPX 300 > SCM40A to surpass the performance of NAC 282/Hi-Cap DR > SCM40A.
Your own ears…
That doesn’t help anyone else though
Daybreak tomorrow in celebration.
Can’t believe you’ve not found this thread useful in determining where the NC 200 series sits within Naim hierarchy!
Nait 2?
G
But the 282 isn’t a source. What source did you use for the 282?
Well done!
Used the Solstice for both 282 and 222. Also hugo tt2
Maybe Graeme, but more likely this I think;
Now that would be interesting……
It doesn’t, it sits at the bottom of the Naim new classic series hierarchy with a very noticeable upgrade to the NSC222 by adding an NPX300 to it.
I enjoyed my quick demo of the new classic line up so far and look forward to hear the rest when it comes out.
This is consistent with what I’ve heard as well and not surprising. It’s good to see Naim producing better SQ with the lower tier boxes.
So you’ve actually heard a new classic series demo then?
seakayaker’s response: “Your own ears…”
I believe the only way you are going to be sure is to demo and listen with your own ears. Following the enthusiastic recommendations from others can be helpful and can also prove catastrophic. …a demo system, in my room, with my ears, may have different results then some of the other enthusiastic responses regarding the new gear posted in this thread.
My one time listen in the dealers show room of the NPX 300, NCS 200, NAP 250 (2023) did not leave me with the impression that spending $26,997.00 plus 10.1% sales tax was worth replacing my XPS DR > NDX 2 > SuperCap DR > NAC 282 > NAP 250 DR.
The new gear is lovely but having had an initial listen I’ll stick with what I have for now.
Happy for those who made the upgrade and I am looking forward to the upcoming 300 series being released.
