The Naim New Classic range - Part 1

I really like Auralic, but I also liked the NSC222 with NPX300. Let’s see ……

Yes, it’s called eBay.

250.3 is very special. get one.

i am listening to everything again.

The 555 can be used with the the NSC222 so you will be able to use it with the new streamer. Just need the appropriate cable

None of the legacy preamp powers supplies for legacy NACs will be compatible

Probably at least 5700£x5 so yeah.

If 222/300 beats NDS/555DR then I’m going to have to audition a 333/555DR

Or 333 with 2 NPX? Staying within the new ecosystem.

That would be too much of a stretch for me right now!

Plus I wouldn’t fancy the extra box

From what I’ve read so far 555DR beats 300PS

I am I am!

@110dB does the NC250 use less power than the 250DR? I just noticed my electricity bill is less since I bought it. I’m not even using the stand-by mode.

I’m definitely looking forward to what comes out next and I’m sure the new range will be fantastic. Price is going to be completely over the top here and to update my stuff it’ll will be equivalent of a 3 series BMW.

So like a few before I’ll mute this thread and turn the volume up on my existing gear totally ignorant and happy.

Indeed Pete

Listen in blissful ignorance

Changeover cost will be right over the top

There’s a reason we rushed to finish our green light system at knockdown prices

Prices are going to hurt.

I expect that at the new prices, one would be looking at other options at that price point as well. Or sit back and smell the roses with a classic “classic” system.

Spot on Mike

At my age not going bankrupt because of Naim that’s for sure :crazy_face:

It’s only bloody music after all, plenty of other important things in life

I could not build the second floor I could also save some money elsewhere like a laundry etc as Mrs Pete would have probably left me.

Indeed it’s very annoying when one’s system necessitates a second listen to fully comprehend but hopefully the new 300 series will improve on this.
