Sure. This tells you what are the announced (or about to be announced) products in the 200 and 300 lines. It doesn’t say whether or not there will be other products in the 200 and 300 lines at some future point, or whether there may be other lines besides 200 and 300 in the New Classic Series.
Sorry, I wasn’t assuming that, just wondering how far the range consolidation goes/went etc. And I know I should just wait and see
As this thread has reached a prodigious length since it was started back in January, on Thursday morning I will be closing it and renaming it ‘The New Classic range - Part 1’. I’ll then open a new thread entitled ‘The New Classic range - Part 2’. That should help to keep things reasonably manageable.
Like your thinking and hope you’re right but that would mean NSS 333 is cheaper than NDX2 so from a hierarchy perspective that would be problematic.
I have no idea but think £8,750 (half the cost of 500) would be minimum for NSS & NAC and £11,400 for NAP.
We’ll see soon enough.
EDIT - I see formerlyknownasMoog said this .
My thinking is the 200 series is the old 282/250. Hence the NC250. Maybe we will see a 200-series self-powered preamp later in the year?
Whilst the 300 series will be at 252/300 and NDS level. It would make sense for the NAC332 to be the natural partner with the 350 power amp in the same way the 252/300 setup was.
The 332 and 333 will most likely need the NPX300 to function.
+1
New Classic NAP 250 is already there
Sure you just said "reasonably manageable"haha good luck mate
Tim. Who on earth told you that there’s a NAP500 replacement planned in the short or medium term?
Well i guess folk in the market might be waiting to see what the new 300 amps are going to be like or as things are starting to get a bit tight in the country, most dont want to spend £10k on an old ish amp or pre these day’s?
Whatever i am glad mine is gone as i dont think i would get the same price for them now, plus i actually made a few quid on them both, bonus.
Given the supply chain issues that are ongoing and underway/impending contraction in the global economy Naim may well decide to keep a more simplified product offering for the time being. I would’ve loved to see a 300 series streaming preamp.
Nobody. Am just surmising Speculating. Talking nonsense. Thinking wishfully!
. You’ll be receiving a call from you know who regarding the Statement Streamer long before any new 500 power amp release. Hope your resistance holds up
I was trying to resist the 3x250-03 by thinking of the 500-03!
It’ll be an integrated pre/power amp in vertical orientation with power supply built-in in the lower section à la Statement. That’s my prediction/inspired guess.
You may well be right on the pricing. It may make the upgrade path less attractive to many, but they’ve got a business to run and I’m sure they’ve run the numbers/done the market research. They’ve been at this a while! I guess we’ll see in a couple of days.
Incidentally, my Nova plus NC250 is sounding incredible this evening. Perhaps not the most “balanced” system on paper, but wow. I’ll hopefully be looking to move to a 222 in the coming months, but boy oh boy, the journey is enjoyable.
According to my local dealer (I will remain silent on the name) - he said 4 years roughly until the new 500 is released. He’s been bob on with everything else so he might be right on this too.
Sounds like a Mel Brooks epic
It probably sometimes reads like one too…
Really?
