Never really thought about it in that way @Stu299 but I think I know what you mean . If so very good
I’m also interested to see what the 300 series brings and will entertain myself with the 300 streamer/auralic G2 (Aries, Vega) shootout later in the year probably, through the new 332 and 300 amps plus home demo through my current system
AURALic will have their G3 series available by then alongside the G2.2 upgrades.
Yes I saw there will be G3 series announcements during the Munich HighEnd. It has been the right amount of time to wait (for me that is) and to see and what comes out. Looking forward to see
My theory for the preamp is 33% increase on the 252. NC250 had around this increase on the 250DR. Prediction for 332 and 333 will be the same at £9700. With 350 at £11,400. Hoping I’m wrong and it’s cheaper than these prices.
On costings, maybe Naim have decided to just sell each of their new classic boxes all at the same cost. We’ve seen that with the earlier released boxes - £5700 each in the UK.
So the 300 level streamer, preamp and amplifier (of which the received wisdom on here seems to be that you would need two mono blocks) would be £5700 x 4. That would be a very neat solution.
In that way a 300 series pre amp plus 300 series streamer costs double the 222. (Plus possibly power supplies etc…).
Let’s hope your theory is better than mine.
Of course the real interest is what the replacement for the 500 will be like
Of course the real interest is what the replacement for the 500 will be like
That’s beyond my reach, but maybe @Stu299 would like to comment
Unfortunately not for me. Naim have already priced me out of the present 500. My hope is that a 350nc will be a step up from my 300DR.
We all know what’s coming, dont we ? As it’s even on naims website.
Or is more coming?
Might end up being a god send that i just sold my 500 kit, if the new 300 gear matches it for sound quality or maybe even surpasses it. Not long to find out.
My hope is that a 350nc will be a step up from my 300DR.
It should be
are you assuming that the new nac is a 252 evolution and not a 282 evolution?
and what about the power, self powered with expanding options?
Ooh I like the sound of that. Very neat and tidy.
From the noises coming out of Naim HQ that’s something we don’t need to worry about for a few years at least
Yes I note there are some P/L 500 series units that have already been sat on the shelf for some time. Advertised prices haven’t changed but something may have to give soon…
Kinda related, I wonder if what we’re looking at constituting the entire NC 200 and 300 range being:
NSC 222, NAP 250
NPX 300, NSS 333, NAC 332, NAP 350
NVC, NPX-TT
So no plain 200 series pre? The NSC222 seems like a great product, but it doesn’t have many analogue input options.
That’s my reading of the situation.
Why would you assume it’s the entire range? There could be any number of other products over the next year or two. There are certainly one or two other products already leaked by dealers over the last few months which seem not to be imminently announced.
