Thanks, Chris.
Brain fade, I fear. My Oxford education is deserting me!

Interesting. You have three pairs stacked? My Nait 2 easily handles both my original and Quad 63.
Two stacked pairs, left and right, each powered by one Olive NAP135 per channel, plus one pair bolted (upside down) to the ceiling, behind the listening position, using Naim’s AV-1 rear sound processor and (one) Olive NAP250. (An attempt by me to mimic an ‘ideal’ shoebox-shaped concert hall.)
I posted some photos of the set-up to this Forum a few weeks ago.
Got a link or idea which thread, Graham? I remember seeing the amps on that snazzy shelving you have, but don’t remember seeing the ESL’s - I’d love to see the pair bolted to the ceiling!
Wow! I’ll have to have a look at the photos.
Here you go, I think!
I bet that sounds lovely !?
Thanks too, @gthack

Possible to get a photo of the ceiling ESL fruitbat pair? I’m curious how they ‘hang’, cant picture it in my ( admittedly limited) imagination!
PS Nice Velvets third! Hadnt noticed that before.
PPS - sorry for the thread drift, folks.
Good lord, I have one just like that!!
The vey helpful young lady who took the photo (and loaded it up) didn’t photograph that for me.
I’ll see what can be done, but no promises.
(They are screwed, upside down, onto a pair of aluminium strips, which are in turn screwed into the ceiling.)
Thanks Graham.
So… they hang down into the room then?
With their stand feet fastened to the strips…Fruitbat indeed, lol.
Knowing nothing of Quads, do they need space behind them or is the arrangement flat to a wall?
Sorry all, no more thread drift after this!
Yes, Stevie, they hang down. The silly little original feet have been removed, so that the bottom of the black-painted grilles are touching the aluminium plates, which are screwed into the ceiling - it’s all much simpler than it sounds.
There’s quite bit of space behind.
I’m sure it sounds amazing. Have an abiding love of the ELS 50
It does all make a very pleasing racket. Manfred Stein, MD of QUAD in Germany who made the ESLs for me, told me that he had never heard his own speakers sound so good. But he had never heard them on the end of Naim electronics before.
Perhaps he’d never heard them upside down, either!
That is probably true, although it would make no difference. The speaker is made of three panels which stretch the vertical length of the speaker - treble in the middle, flanked by bass/midrange panels on either side.
I’ve just heard I’ll get mine at the beginning of next week.
I am looking forward to connecting it to my Tannoy L Eaton and won’t hesitate to give here my first
impressions.
Re: Review samples I’ve already asked as I was very keen to pit the new Nait against my (just) factory serviced original Nait 1 for Soundstage Ultra. Naim loved the idea but I’ve since been informed by their PR that no review samples are available.
So I suspect sadly the only way to gain an impression will be at shows or dealers - or by buying one!
A pity as I reckon with 36 years of living with a Nait 1 and a lifelong passion for Naim I reckon I could have written a fantastically entertaining piece.

Whereabouts are you Jonathan? There may be an owner nearby willing to lend you one to try out.
