The new NAIT 50 Limited Edition

I’m loving some of these posts.

Spent many an evening in the Market Porter with Roger. We designed a speaker in a cabinet in the pub then some guys from Salisbury beat us to production !

As I recall, JV wanted to make the Nait 1 for £150 plus vat. He couldn’t quite get there so it originally sold for £155 plus 15% vat = £178.25. Needless to say, Roger talked me into buying one.

It was triple Jack Daniels with ice, not too much, and a splash of lime juice.

I stuck to pints.

The question is…will any make it into shops to be able to listen to it before they sell out?

Was a little disappointed that there was no NAIT 50 on demo at High End Munich.

Do not think that they will be sold out so quickly. We (naim nerds) here are not the average customers. 1973 are a lot.
If someone without nostalgia is looking for a better integrated amp from naim, the atom will be more in focus or nait XS - only my 2 cents.
But nevertheless I ordered one today

I have an Atom currently… and am too young for nostalgia, however €3k is about the right level for an upgrade for a single component and its very pretty…

Upgrade? Would you like to combine both or choose nait plus separate streamer? This should be an update.
Not confirmed yet that nait sounds better than atom

Ultimately adding a ND5 XS 2, but possible via Atom pre out or Bluesound Node X (sub and main speaker low and high pass is of interest).

Exactly why I want a demo…is the NAIT more of a retro throw back piece or is it a serious piece of kit that performs somewhere between the Atom and New Classic.

if you are too rational, you will be disappointed.
For sure the Nait50 is not build to outperform all integrated in any perfomance

we all know this product is made for the love of music and compresses the whole history of Naim Aufio in a shoe box.

Maybe I’m just too young :joy:
For me the price point is right and the design is awesome, but it would not be an emotional purchase. It would have to perform at the price point for me to part with the money.

I still reckon NAIM are selling a £2,699 amp that they feel punches its weight with other similarly priced amps SQ wise.

I hope I’m not being foolish, however I would be surprised if the performance was equivalent only to something at a far lower price point, albeit wrapped in a pretty box.

Don’t know where you are getting those prices from. My dealer told me $4.5 k CAD. (I put down my deposit.)

I really hope, that the nait 50 beats my old nait 2 CB (no re-capping done)

Surely the headphone amplifier will sound much better.

Than nait 2
Think you are referring to the atom

Imho, the Atom is a great Allrounder with good performance. It was a game changer when Naim launched this little Integrated with streaming performance and many other features.
On the other hand the Atom was never made for unexpected sonical excitement imho.

Same for the NAIT50. I can be wrong, but I expect sweet British sound, but more controlled like the 80th Amps.
in comparison to the Atom more liquid and smooth maybe.

if you want excitement detail and dynamic, I would choose the Supernait 3.
This Amp has everything imho and will keep you happy for a very long time.

Everyone is different.
To me it`s not so important to get 100% perfomance.
Displays, to many features, complexity or too much power - this would be a deal breaker for me. And yes I had many different Amplifiers like that.

the NAIT2 CB is the only one who is with me since many many years and will stay. This is not because it`s the greatest one - this is because I like the simplicity, look and timbre.

Sorry it was a bad joke.

Drago, you think that the Atom will be a better amp? I have an Atom and Stageline and am considering selling both to get the 50. Of course I’ll need a streamer.

Hi everyone. Currently have an LP12 Majik, Atom and Focal 926. Honestly I don’t stream any of my lossless files anymore, I just use Spotify. Considering very much selling the Atom and Stageline to buy the 50. I’m assuming a basic entry level steamer is good enough for Spotify. Suggestions? And would this be a mistake?

Come on then, shoebox size (or smaller) streamer /network player options to partner the nifty fifty?

Already posted the forthcoming Cyrus XR Streamer above - shoebox format
