The new NAIT 50 Limited Edition

Got it, thank you

CDS + Nait50 + Intro for example

It worked for me, a Rel t/5x just filled out the bottom end of my 2 way focals nicely. Subtly done, it’s essentially turned them into (almost) full range speakers and improved the balance of the mids. Depends on the room but would definitely recommend trying one (or two).

I have two in there… din to din and phono to din

Nice. Sub is definitely worth trying to get a sense of.

It depends on room size/shape and speaker type. Certain modest sized rooms with say a LS3/5a sealed box speaker can happily perform down to or around 35 Hz with room reinforcement… really under pins music… and genres like EDM and electronic can work wonderfully deep, clear, tight and punchy, as you don’t get speaker/sub crossover phase issues..can work really well with the N50.

However larger room you will loose that reinforcement and you might need a sub to provide sub bass to your speakers.

A sub is also good for bass slam due to the increased air displacement, so great for sound effects less so for most music.

Even though my Scala has a 11ā€ woofer that go low to 27Hz I still want to see what a true external sub can do. I heard it is kind of different.

Shelf reshuffle in advance of new cabling. Possibly.

Sure.. they are certainly different.. and can be very impressive with music with certain speakers, especially when set subtly low so they just start to ā€˜rumble’.

this is the best topic, fyi.

I live in an Edwardian house with wooden floorboards. We have just had these sanded and the joists repacked. The floor is now more solid. Having just put the room (and hifi) back together I realise it’s brought an improvement to the sound. Hardly surprising. I’m enjoying greater detail from the Nait50. This is a terrific little amp.

I am about to find out if true or not :smiling_face_with_horns:

Just a small warning when inserting your source DIN. I stupidly assumed it was the same and aligned it wrongly. Almost forced my way in.. good thing to stop and check first :frowning: (stupid of me, I know)

Oh that’s strange. Didn’t know they changed this but have struggled with Nait 50 inputs too. Thanks.

Iron Mike’s brother has an offer on Kudos KS-1 speaker cable, 18 quid a metre. Bargain.

I’ve got ProAc 1.5s, so will be happy to report on the match once the N50 is going.

Orientation depends on whether the DIN socket is PCB mounted (as on the NAIT) or mounted to the back panel, as on the NAC552.

Oops. I happened to buy new stands…. The improvement is seismic…. ( well, almost)…..!

No. But I will be reporting on the ProAc 1.5 soon-ish.

I would be interested to hear from any ProAc D2R experiences.

I’ve got my N50 July this year and it’s been feeding my D2Rs since. Without going into too much detail and will try to avoid some cliches, but this combo is just outstanding, the N50 replaced my Olive 82/250 system, which was already an aspirational level in a Naim lineup, but the little Nait is just a different type of beast.

The ribbon tweeter of the D2Rs just shines with the N50, never harsh, never was anyway, but that was one of my concerns prior to purchasing the N50, as I was quite satisfied in terms of the ribbon not being fatiguing, yet again, the N50 proved this tweeter is simply amazing. The mid driver also is ultra responsive to the speed the N50 provides, it just never skips a beat and keeps up at such a fast pace, something I have never experienced previously from the ProAcs. Can’t go wrong with both.
