The new NAIT 50 Limited Edition

AC/DC - esp Bon Scott era always brings a smile to my face. The foot taps, the head nods and my appalling vocals kick in. Apparently I have a long way to go to the top, if I want to rock ‘n’ roll!

Both eras of AC/DC are good, watching Brian Johnson sing/perform always makes me happy

And an OLED text only display. How sensible!

Depends how you use the streamer.

The Ultra plays a lot of radio and it’s a lot less faff for me, and even more so for anyone else in the room, to hit preset button and choose a station rather than go and get phone or tablet, open WiiM app and go to favourites from that.

Otherwise then yes the app is used for Connect and streaming.

I had a Cyrus one when I was an apprentice… Celestion DL2s I think were the speaker of the time…?

The Cyrus one came after the 778 and they brought out the PSX power supply for the Cyrus two
My mate still has it 40 years later. :+1:

Did you find adding the Qutest to the Wiim ultra made a big difference?

Interested too

Just had a Google the hifi shop on the corner has a bundle offer

Yep.

But also for convenience as Teac CDT and Ultra both go into Qutest, and then into just one of the Din inputs on the 50.

Agree with your comments on the ultra. Good screen and app. They continue to develop the app and FW for the ultra. Not to fix bugs but to bring real beneficial features. My son uses his/my/his nait50 and ultra into a pair dali Zensor 1 speakers. A small system I could easily live with.

TuneIn sucks and no GoogleCast to help out there.

I had the Cyrus 2 and PSx, fond memories but I def didn’t get the best out of it as teamed it with Epos ES11’s, they needed more heft than the Cyrus could yield.

Interesting, I was going to ask if anyone used the N50 with cheaper speakers than would be expected and do they sound better as a result? Zensor 1 always well regarded in their price bracket. Considering something similar for a 2nd location. Transporting the N50 would be easy.

I think that may be the standard price if you buy both together. Other outlets are offering that bundle too. You can get a triple bundle which also includes the matching amp, but that won’t be of interest to N50 owners!

Pair it with a streaming dac like Node Icon and the musical heaven is yours.

I understand the Ultra has a touch screen and I can see why that might be useful. But I don’t think that’s the case with the Mission. It’s information only and that’s when I think a clear, easily readable text display beats a cluttered full colour effort with album display etc.
