V1 we chatted about them before. You were a great help. Just looking for more drive and bass due to system upgrade detailed above and spending more time listening

I had the first pair of QM10’s in the UK and then swapped them for the v2 when it came out. Was defo an improvement in control and drive.

Sorry for late response, I have been off the forum for a while. I was very pleased with the Kerr’s, easy to drive and to get right in any kind of room. PMC was never a tema, actually I have never listened to any.

I sold Kerr last summer, mostly bacause I was tempted by a locally handmade Morel/ Seas speakerdesign. N50 will be with me and is currently not in use, but will power Guru’s and another coming Seas speaker. Right now Guru Junior is my main speakers

10 days in with the Nait 50 and it going very well. Last night turned the volume up to 10 o clock position listening to a mix of Scottish and Irish bands - Deacon Blue, Gerry Raferty, Average White Band, Dexy Midnight Runners, Gallagher & Lyle, Nazareth.

The Nait 50 has no problem driving the Martin Logan ESLs and we were all rocking.

A very capable integrated amp.

sounds good - yes it can drive well in its target environments, I would think the high current and peak power output of up tp 220 W in its over specified output stage helps, along with the removal of superfluous electronics (ie automation, balance controls etc) that can only detract from its audio performance.

A very capable player and I look forward to setting up office area system with the Nait 50 once my 252/SC/300 get repaired and serviced.

Where the Nait 50 is sharp, precise and very clear, I find the 252/300 combo warmer and more musical. It will be interesting to listen to the two in the future.

The N50 does get somewhat mellower over time. That’s my experience, anyway.

intersting I found the N50 initially mellow and slightly shut in, but over a few months it opened up and became more focussed with my speakers,

The one trait I find the N50 really has going for it with my various speakers is the way is doesn’t impose itself on the recordings - ie what some might say it sounds ‘musical’. To that end it doesn’t draw attention to itself and allows you to enjoy recordings for hours on end and to appreciate the actual production styles.

On this I find it preferable to my previous 552DR 250 setup… my 252DR/250 setup was very good across a range of production styles - but there is something about the N50 that just gets it pretty often spot on. (with my various speakers).

If I was critical of the N50 it sometimes lacks that extra bit of HF air and extension and can still sound sometimes just a tad too warm with my Russell Ks , but I find power cycling tends to reset that - now my 252DR/250 and 552DR/250 did have that HF extension… but this really is very minor

After selling off my SN3, NDX2 and associated power supplies I’m coming back to Naim. Just couldn’t stop thinking about the retro little Nait 50! Two dealers in the US are selling them at $1899 new in the box and one dealer is including a Mogami RCA to DIN cable with that. I took the bait and ordered one, will have it this Monday according to FedEx. It should pair well with my QLN Prestige 3 speakers as they’re being driven nicely right now by my Unison S6 30 watt tube amp. Flat 8 ohm load, 87db. Excited to get some Naim back in the house!

From the picture it seems to be a Mogami 2965 terminated with Rean connectors, that cable works really well with the NN50, better than the Mogami 2549 I was using before, the presentation opened up quite nicely with better focus. It’s not worth what they claim, that cable can be custom ordered for 1/3 of their asking price, good thing it’s included free of charge.

Boy am I glad to have active speakers.

Any idea where to order that for less in the USA? I see designacable has them, but 51 pounds and in the UK. Would cost triple with shipping and taxes/tariffs.

I hate to say this however ime Prestige 3’s at a minimum need a SN3. By all means use a NAIT 50 with them however keep the volume in check.

If they seem way too underpowered I can return the Nait 50 or sell it. Hope it works!

Fwiw Ive been using the Mogami 2965 terminated with Switchcraft RCA and REAN DIN connectors for the last year with my N50

Imho it’s a high quality no nonsense cable

Congratulations on purchasing the Nait50. If you’ve had a chance to listen to it with the QLN Prestige, a brief review would be helpful. QLN is a rather expensive brand that isn’t very common here on the forum. It would be interesting to hear how the Nait50 pairs with the QLN.

I really like your minimalist setup, where less is more! :+1:
