The main problem is, if I live in a smaller place, where do I keep all the records and CDs? Ripping and streaming is a possible approach with the CDs but the vinyl problem is more extensive. I’m really talking about changing the collecting (hoarding) habits of more than 50 years!
Just the first 30 seconds, though, right?
Who was it that kept playing 30 seconds of Ed Sheeran over and over?
….that’s quite normal
Ed S; that could have been GarryC or myself. We did use it a lot for a year or so. Then it’s too monotonous.
….for tuning audio we have a few tracks. These tracks must start fast, no long intros. Then we swap between two units (AB test). Listen to the next mod and decide if it’s good….then repeat. It can be for months on a single product.
Listening to the evolution of tuning of a new product is very rewarding.
Graham, now you have a new dealer why don’t you ask him to do a home dem of an NDX2? He can show you how it works, set up a free month of Qobuz for you and perhaps leave it with you for a few days to have a play. That’s what I did. I am no IT expert but the dealer sets it up, you just enjoy a world of music.
I recall with Roy it was the intro to Thea Gilmore’s My Own Private Riot that was endlessly being repeated. He also liked to use Radiohead, IIRC.
That could be one of the most used tracks ever!
Roy does like Radiohead. He did not play Radiohead at work. Too precious, must be properly enjoyed.
What are you most pleased with in the Nait 50?
Sounds like a new book;
“Fifty Shades of Green”.
DG…
Sorry, who makes SL2s? Thanks!
That could be because it’s based off the new 250 but without the DR. The new amp design is just a fantastic listen. I don’t dare try the new 350 as I can’t afford it.
Naim. SL2s launched in 2002, production for approx 6-7- years.
349 pairs manufactured.
Keep your NC250 and put the money towards a DAVE
Can’t be. Didn’t you know that Richards Naim book already has that title claimed?
No, I didn’t.
But great minds think alike.
DG…
Or an old song;
‘a whiter shade of pale’…
LancashireHotpot…
Naim made the SL2 loudspeakers. Now discontinued.
And yet still very much alive as there’s a pair in the r&d listening room. Every component gets auditioned through them.
There was also a pair in the Service dept. listening room the last time I looked.
