The new NAIT 50 Limited Edition

If listening to radio stations is your main concern, then definitely consider streaming. Assuming you have a working wi-fi and an iPad, all you need to add would be a Bluesound Node, and connect it up to the amp as you would for a tuner. You can then get any of the many thousands of radio stations in the world loud and clear. The only ‘risk’ is that you may later want to take out a music subscription, or get a more advanced streamer from Naim (but not really necessary).

Have you listened to a Nait 50

Wondering about the logo, is it illuminated as before?

No, as per the Nait 1…

I think Adam was referring to the early Naits…the '50, imho is a different amp from my Nait 1.

One would expect the pre/power combos to be better than a small integrated…however, imho the '50 is a lot closer than one may think having owned all of the classic combos at some point, and still do own one.

Anyone tried the new Nait with SL2s? I think Steve Sells said that they developed it with SL2s but did I imagine that? Or maybe he used it at home with them.

Coincidentally, the Nait 50 is the same price as these components in this republished review: Naim NAC 82/NAP 180 Pre/Power Amps | Hi-Fi News (hifinews.com)

Paging @HiFiman

The very first play of the Nait 50 was into SL2s (23rd Dec, 2022, 4:03pm, playing ‘Hit or miss’ by Odetta).
Later Focal Scala Utopia EVO were used too (different listening rooms). The source was an ND555 in both cases.

…at home my main system is currently an NSC 222, NC NAP 250, SBLs and an nSUB.

Cheers
Steve

Many thanks for your clarification!

White one at the bottom is best so far.
It tames the glare.
Yellow doesn’t look right
Green is too blue.
It’s between the red and the white.
If it fits as nice I reckon a red glow might win it. :+1:t2:

The SL2s sound sublime on the end of the Nait 50 using Chord Dave / MScaler as source.

SL2s / Nait 50 creates an incredible playback I’m stunned by the performance this Nait delivers in fact I cannot wait to get home after work and hit play. Even late night low volume listening it doesn’t disappoint.

Thanks - in fact after I posted I did find your earlier posts again, and had forgotten that you were using SL2s.

Are you thinking of trying the Nait 50 with your SL2s

:+1: Red one due shortly and 2 other shades of white…

Yes, but of course I can’t just try it without buying it. What I am considering is getting one as a first step towards downsizing, which I expect to have to do within the next few years. But the hundreds and hundreds of records and CDs I have are probably a bigger problem to solve.

The '50 has a phono stage, also poss to connect a CD (or CDT via a streamer), or a separate phono amp; and a nice streamer/qobuz would go a long way to solving the ‘problem’ on a daily basis…

That’s all fine and well. However I was referencing the NAIT 50 against the NAIT 1 and NAIT 2 shoebox integrated amplifiers and not pre/power combinations. Or am I missing something?

Oh naughty boy art thou referring to missing cables when people innocently upgrade to pre/powers?

What a fantastic choice for a first song. Straight up classic.
