Records with integral clamps… there’s a thought.
Only one playable side, though. Dammit.
In some ways, it’s terrifying…
The magical Naim would it be back?
Are you saying it rivals 552dr/300dr?
That would put naim in a very tricky situation
It’s just that it’s very very good indeed, and I feel the source feed and interconnects allow it to demonstrate its abilities on a par with an ND555. With this, I seriously think I could be very happy if someone carted the 552 / 300 away in the night… There might be extremes of sound that could be missed (outright grip at stupid volume / and erm, what else…) but it’s that core musicality value that it has in spades and lets shine right through with an excellent source set up.
LINA and Nait 50 plus a ProJect RS2 transport (tiny and fabulous too) would be such a killer high-end combination; almost makes me want to join the down size bandwagon now…
That is nothing short of amazing. That you would even consider changing your 552/300 for a NAIT that is.
I have had my 552DR/500DR turned off for a week…and agree with you, if the '50 was all I had it would be fine. (not as nuanced, detailed, and full, however very good).
With a good source, it is very good, almost too good
My 552DR/500 are still in their boxes with the Nait 50 pride of place.
Agree on the source as I have a Chord Dave / MScaler / ND5XS2 connected with SL2s on the end of the amp.
I’m staggered by how good the setup sounds.
My Nait 50 arrives on Tuesday along with a four metre Shawline X (RCA to DIN) .
Will make some temporary changes , but having been up to an 8 box system (including TT ) will be down to a 3 box system when settled down.
I really need to stop reading this thread as I DO NOT NEED a Nait 50!!!
Don’t worry, it’s a limited edition, and all will be sold very soon!
Does that make you feel better?
Not really Graham.
Just wait till the flippers then start selling ones at £3-4K !
I didn’t need one but I still ordered it
Seriously, you’ve taken the words right out of my mouth… Oh well, I’ll just have to continue to ‘suffer’ with my DAC V1 and 160 BD…
It’s a very clever bit of marketing by Naim. I don’t need my Nait 50 (I have a perfectly good Nait 2), but FOMO came into play when I read that it is a limited edition.
You do though
I haven’t been able.
It’s too expensive.
