The new NAIT 50 Limited Edition

Looks great. Like many on here I have no need for one but it doesn’t stop the desire to get one.

I’m keeping solace in the fact all my Densen gear is back with them for an update and service and once returned will be good as new.

I haven’t worked out where that will be deployed yet when it all gets back.

:+1: Thanks, know what you mean…I have absolutely no need for it, however it is addictive…

Me neither! I think that must be satisfying for Naim to see customers buying their equipment when they have no specific need for it. That’s when they must really know they’re onto a winner  And there seems to be a fair few second or third systems being built as a direct result.

I wonder how many Nait 50 are younger buyers, say under the age of 40?

Very few is my guess. What do you think?

They have the John Lewis gear for that though.

I only ask as I think it depends on a very limited market- people just like me :grinning:
I would guess that Naims future isn’t with those of us nearer the grave than some others, so a further run or applying the design to other components is unlikely?

Tend to agree bruss yes spot on, but we can always dream :grinning:

Yes, I think you’re right except I do still think there are enough old folks left to warrant a matching streamer, plus tap into existing CB owners too. But it would need to be very good which would push the cost up and limit sales somewhat. Hard to know how many they could sell. I know we’ve been here already in this thread but can’t help myself. I suspect 1,973 would sell eventually but take a lot longer than the amp which I guess wouldn’t work for them as a limited edition :frowning: Mind you, if the margin is 2-3 times that of the amp then would a smaller quantity work?

@bruss

One doesn’t know the future - if the NAIT - 50 is a great success ( and looks as though it is) Naim may continue to produce it after this 1,973 run

Look at what happened with the Neat speaker Petite 30 anniversary model, a run of only 100

It was so successful they decided to reintroduce as the Petite Classic in their speaker range under great reviews

Anything can happen I guess

NAD did similar with their recent ‘anniversary’ amp…

My own thoughts are that its’ (unfortunately) a one-off… I may be completely wrong of course…

My guess is that they’ve pitched the quantity about right. Don’t recall anyone posting that they’ve been unable to purchase one, at least not in the UK.

So are you breaking the bank to buy a NAIT 50? If so, you should get moving very soon!

It’s ok I pre-ordered when first announced .can’t wait .

I collect my Nait 50 a week Saturday. I’ve been away frm Naim for about 20 years, and when I left it was having scaled the upgrade ladder to 552/500.
Should be an exciting ’ welcome home’
Pairing the N50 with Neat Minstra / Iota Alpha, a low-mid spec LP12, AN CDP and BS Node X.
Happy days!
PS - hello to all who know me from back then or since.

Just fired up mine now, having been extremely lucky to get one hot off the press from Mike at Criterion Audio. All hooked up in place of the 552DR / 300DR into FACT 8 Signatures and fed from the mind-bogglingly good dCS LINA… Stone cold off the start blocks, and I’m going to need to spend a long time to figure out what exactly is missing from the 552 / 300; where does this much heft and solidity come from??? Is this some sort of electronical Tardis? Some space-time continuum trickery or what? Hugely involving and musical; just everything I truly love about Naim all wrapped up in a tiny chrome bumper shoe-box. Best HiFi purchase ever… (actually after LINA - that tops everything for all time for me…)

Massive congratulations Naim! And huge thanks to to you Steve for spending so much time sharing the design evolution with us all…:+1::+1::+1:
