Driving through this morning when this came over the radio. Just had to crank it up. Early UK proto digital dancehall, Lo Fi Casio Rhythm track but try to keep still to it…
There is a worthy Honest John’s compilation of these sounds from the London Unity Soundsystem.

Interesting look at Mexican Reggaeton, the Reggae Dancehall influenced genre that started in Cuba
“Classism, racism, and elitism against reggaeton and its fanbase persist to this day. There is a long history of club and record store raids, as well as politicians who’ve sought to ban or censor reggaeton from receiving radio play. The prejudice against lower-class artists of color has also, in many cases, hindered access to travel visas, preventing Latin American artists from touring in support of their hits.”

Been listening to Heavy Rain by Lee Scratch Perry a lot recently.
Loving this one.
Good call @Premmyboy
A dub companion to the critically-acclaimed Rainford album that sees the Upsetter and co-producer Adrian Sherwood radically re-version the original tapes with a host of guest musicians including Brian Eno and Vin Gordon.
If Rainford is 2019’s Roast Fish, Collie Weed & Corn Bread then Heavy Rain is it’s Super Ape.

So sad to hear of the passing of true Jamaican music icon Bob Andy.
Will perhaps be more widely known for his hits with Marcia Griffiths, with whom he had a long relationship, recording the chart topping cover of Young Gifted And Black and Pied Piper.
Keith “Bob” Anderson was so very much more than a two hit wonder. He is probably Jamaica’s greatest songwriter, writing a catalogue of great songs recorded by himself and others.
Starting at Studio One who released the essential “Songbook” album, Bob went on to international stardom with Marcia Griffiths and later produced other artists on his own label in London with the Mad Professor.
A lovely humble man who will be missed by Reggae fans worldwide
